Sacking the manager is easy, appointing one is the hardest thing in football.Do we go for a untried young manager,or a steady Eddie or a experienced campaigner.I would say PC will not take a chance on a up and coming manager. So itβs either Moyes,Allardyce or Pullis.

Feel for the bloke. Treated him badly. Spinks has had an absolute mare this last 48 hours, you think he'd be sheepishly sloping off on his holidays hoping that nobody had noticed that he'd gone. The sheer front of the man coming out with yet more bullsbit is utterly embarrassing. How thick does he think people actually are? Yeah right, Martin ... Lambert was allowed to dictate the terms of the meeting and John made a unilateral decision on Lambert's future there and then? As I said, utterly embarrassing. Wow. So you were in the meeting then. Please enlighten us mere mortals with the salient points.

Makes me wonder if the board have panic'd knowing Swansea might of been able to steal a march on new manager candidates..

Iβd like Stoke to think outside the box for a change, iβm getting sick of these fucking dinosaurs. Who would you pick? Big Sam - it is no brainer. To be honest we are rich enough to snatch any manager in the world other than the top 6 in England and the top two in Spain It has to be Big Sam,made from the same mould as Alan Durban and Tony Pulis,

I honestly think it will come down to a short list of 3, Big Sam, Moyes or Mad Mick. With that utterly underwhelming short list I'd have to go with Big Sam as depressing a thought as that is.

This is completely at odds with the Spinks article which will have come from his cources at the club which with all due respect are likley to be better than the one quoted by Meggsy. Wow Meggsy out scooped Spinks, of course we never doubted him!

Good news for the club and fans.
Hard luck Paul, I think you were given an impossible job and results actually got worse instead of better, despite your best efforts and fingering some of the wasters on the playing staff.
The owners now need to follow through by clearing out anyone responsible for the dreadful signings, I'm sure it wasn't all Hughes fault.
As to a replacement, we need someone with credibility, a clean CV with no relegations or suspicious activity. I'd prefer not to have an old fart who is past his best, but a younger man who has proven himself, has his best in front of him, not behind him, and hopefully has the charisma to attract good players. He also needs to have some communication skills, instead of muttering slogans to himself and no one able to understand what he is saying. Above all he needs to be proud to manage Stoke and determined to succeed. There must be a young Ferguson out there somewhere.
You might add luck to the list of qualities required, but I'm a strong believer in you make your own luck. "Luck is a matter of preparation meeting opportunity." Lucius Annaeus Seneca
