Even after his Sociedad adventure, I'd have said yes. But his time at Sunderland was really, really poor; he was playing some dire stuff there. He has redeemed himself slightly at West Ham but even then, it hasn't been great (his form has been 'bottom 3' over the last ten games).
He still backs himself for a top job, but you'd imagine he'd have to bring about some success with a lower Prem team before someone would give him a shot. Can't see him dropping into the second tier tbh.
Wouldn't be a terrible appointment but can't say it would be inspiring.
A better choice than the incumbent manager though.

In comparison to Lambert, yes, but not really my first choice. Agreed but I suspect yours & mine 1st, 2nd, 3rd choices wouldn't come now ( let's be honest we're a bit of a basket case atm).

I think the way to look at this is to ask the question ... "Would we be worried if Swansea or West Brom announced that Moyes was their new manager?"
And I guess the answer would probably be a "yes".
His profile would put him at, or very near the top of the list in attracting players and the media and bookies would immediately regard either club as a serious contender next season.
I've never really taken to him as a manager and he wouldn't be at the top of my list but because of what I've said above, I'd have to be in favour of his appointment.

I think McCarthy would be my choice over Moyes. Both would be good, solid options that give the opportunity to get out of that wretched league at the first time of asking.

As a sexual partner, no.

No.
I don't want to see any old manager who is long past his best. Sorry if that sounds ageist from a pensioner, but the best that any of the 50+ managers can offer is scraping a survival. We need a younger man who'd best years are in front of him, not behind him. The Moyes at his best at Everton, yes; the Moyes of today, no. Ditto Pulis, Allerdyce, Lambert, and Uncle Tom Cobley.

I think it's only a matter of time before they move to a Championship club. What about Nigel Clough?

Absolutely no. He held Everton in mid table obscurity, inevitably failed with the poisoned chalice of manure, failed with Sunderland and Sociedad and has scraped West ham above the relegation zone. I fail to see how anyone thinks he would be a good appointment.

That's the point! Did he keep West Ham up or the dreadful standard of the rest of us? As discussed and agreed with today - the difference between us and WHU was and is Arnie - he kept them up not Moyes Arnie was simply appalling for West Ham until Moyes went there. Moyes has to credit for getting into Arnie's head. Excellent management there. Overall I think Moyes has redeemed himself from 'don't touch with a bargepole' after Sunderland to 'acceptable manager if your first choices turn you down'.

Why would he ever wish to come to Stoke? He wouldn't. Well perhaps if you put a gun to the head of his adorable labrador puppy, Mr Snuffles, he would ponder. Before saying "no".

Can understand this sentiment, the exception I would make to that would be Ranieri. However there are a clutch of interesting young managers:Potter, Cowley's, Hurst,Smith who would all take the job and would all get the crowd on board.

It's academic because there's absolutely no chance the likes of Moyes or Allerdyce would come here. But yes I would be reasonably happy with either of them.

At this point, I’m willing to get behind anyone if it means we don’t start preseason with Lambert in charge. Literally anyone.

Dean Smith for me would be a great appointment if we are to get out of the "Tired old Brigade". He did a good job at Walsall and has done an amazing job at Brentford (On their limited budget)!

Moyes would not be my first choice however he is a solid one. He could build a solid team at stoke. And maybe even get us promoted. I rather him than lambert but I feel like that’s not saying much 😂

He had a fluke season at Everton, and has never cracked a smile since. No more jocks please. That's harsh. Everton were a mess when he arrived. He kept them up and then made them into a stable top flight club, signing some bargains that turned out to be great players. You don't last over a decade at a club unless you do at the very minimum an acceptable job.
