Is it just me, or is anyone else fed up with the media-Wolves promotion love-in/jizzfest already?
I mean it's not like anyone in the press mourned when Wolves were last relegated from the Prem is it? Was anyone as bothered by it as they would be for any other club? No.
Don't get me wrong - this isn't a "Wolves thing" despite them being a rival, but the whole "Oh they'll be a wonderful addition to the Prem" thing is p*ssing me off a bit.
It's bit like everyone in the street suddenly fawning over the new arrivals at number 25 - just because they've got loads of money and a flash new car. "Ooh we must invite them to the BBQ at the weekend! - they'll be a great asset to the neighbourhood!".

I haven't really seen much evidence of this Wolves arse licking anywhere-especially in the national media.
Perhaps you are just being paranoid?

It strikes me that Wolves may be about to enter a few golden years. Rich owners, a very promising manager with backroom staff that recognise and buy quality players and play pleasing football. What's not to like? I personally think they are going to do well in the Prem and will watch with interest to see how they fair. Compare their current set up to ours. They certainly look like they have ambition! I have my tin hat on.....

Much like the love in for plucky Bournemouth, who got promoted against the odds (having a billionaire owner who ignored FFP helped somewhat), I expect it to get worse over the summer and into next season, especially if they have a good start. Nothing to do with the rather dodgy ownership structure / involvement of the super-agent, but how it is great to have one of football's "old guard" back "where they belong".
Not looking forward to it in the slightest!

Wolves cleared of any wrongdoing over links to agent Jorge Mendes By PA Sport 25/04/2018 at 17:37Updated 25/04/2018 at 19:46 0 Leeds were among the clubs who had questioned whether Wolves were playing fair in the transfer market. Wolves have been given the blessing of the English Football League to continue their relationship with high-profile agent Jorge Mendes. A number of Wolves’ Sky Bet Championship rivals, with Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani at the forefront, expressed concern at the influence of Mendes at Molineux. The ‘super agent’ has no official title at Wolves but has a number of clients at the club, including boss Nuno Espirito Santo, £15million midfielder Ruben Neves, attacker Diogo Jota, who is on loan from Atletico Madrid, and £7million winger Ivan Cavaleiro. It led to worries Wolves were circumventing Financial Fair Play rules by not paying players the going rate but an EFL investigation has concluded the club have no case to answer. “The EFL has met with Wolverhampton Wanderers to ensure compliance with the requirements of its regulations,” the EFL said. “At that meeting, a request for information was made by the EFL and following a comprehensive review of the detail subsequently provided by the club, it has been determined that Mr Mendes holds no role at the club and, as such should not be categorised as a ‘relevant person’ as defined by league regulations. “On this basis there is no requirement for him to submit to the owners’ and directors’ test.” Wolves, who have clinched the Championship title, staunchly maintained their innocence throughout and welcomed the EFL’s stance following its enquiries. “After meeting with EFL representatives and providing further written detail, a comprehensive review has concluded with confirmation that the EFL is satisfied there has been no breach of its regulations,” said the club in a statement. “We have always maintained our clarity on both FA and EFL regulations, which have been complied with explicitly since the change of ownership at the club in July 2016. “We believe the release of these findings will bring to a conclusion any speculation surrounding the club’s operation and extinguish any concerns held by other clubs.” Mendes advised Fosun on the takeover of Wolves in 2016, shortly after the Chinese conglomerate bought a stake in his agency. Under Football Association rules, club owners are prohibited from holding an interest in agencies and agents are not allowed to have an influence on the running of a football club. An FA spokesperson said: “The FA has strict regulations in place for all football activities involving intermediaries. “We obtained confirmation from Wolves and all relevant parties, including Mr Mendes, regarding the sale of the club in 2016 and their ongoing compliance with the FA’s regulations on working with intermediaries. “The Premier League and the EFL primarily regulate matters of club ownership and will continue to do so through their owners’ and directors’ test.”

I worked with "The hide and seek Champions" fans from 1971 until 2007.
Every Wolves fan I know was there in the 3rd Div when the Bhatti Brothers were in charge with 4K gates, they must have fiddled the attendances. They also tend to forget that the Council bailed them out 1986 when they nearly went to the wall.
Never mind the deluded F***w*t* are going the charge the Premier league and easily finish in the top 6, no premier league survival fight for them.

Convicted rapist. Not exactly a high bar is it.

Not the same level in terms of scummy actions, but Leeds also had a convicted fraudster in control for a few years - which in the environment they are operating probably makes him less of "fit and proper person". A better human being though, but still.
Whatever way you look at the ownership structure there, and regardless of the FA saying that it's fine, there's some transfers that have happened as a result of the structure that have given them an unfair advantage. Much like when the Pozzo's moved players around their three clubs to best benefit Watford. The FA may say it's alright, but it doesn't change the fact that it hasn't been a level playing field.

Have to say, not really seen much about it other than the usual. They're a bit different because of their ownership model and the fact they have some super young players, but it's nothing compared to the jizz fest that will ensue the moment Leeds United come back up.

Not being funny but they basically bought the league and definitely should fail ffp. Not exactly fair when you can get loans and preferential deals from Portugal because your owners have cash in many pockets, I hope (won’t happen) that they get destroyed next year and their owners go bankrupt Birmingham City style

Makes me sick to think of them up there whilst we're down there.

Not buying that. Wolves fans were staying away in the 80’s because the team was garbage and your stadium was a run down decaying hovel. The 10,700 average you referred to was our average in the 84/85 season when we were relegated from the top league with a record low number of points. Gates everywhere were shocking in those days don’t forget. We came up from the 3rd tier six years later under Macari with an average gate of 17,000, so playing unsuccessfully in a higher league doesn’t always give you bigger gates. For the record, in a similar way to Derby, I think Wolves have a slightly bigger support than Stoke due to you having the advantage of being a one club city unlike S-O-T.
