He was motm that game and played really well, not re-writing history, stating an informed opinion. Think he'd have done well in championship What did you think of the sitters he missed? I recall two chances that he could have done better with but in the list of sitters missed this year I doubt he'd appear in the top 10. As another poster has said what did we have to lose by extending his contract by a couple of months so that Rowett could cast his eye over him. Low risk but big potential upside, however this is Stokeand we don't tend to do the sensible...

He'll be 32 soon we need some young blood as our squad is getting way to old, for me it was the right decision, Rowett can bring his own choices in, hopefully younger and less injury prone.

The sitters he missed? At least he was there, in the right place, a few times, against a Champions League defence, and as a mid-fielder, unlike our friend Berahino, a centre forward who has had no chances to miss against any fucker, and who gets paid (I refuse to use the word "earns" for that unless tool) more in a week than Ireland is paid in three months. And it was Ireland we let go????? Sweet and gentle Jesus!!

The same as any player who misses a sitter, shit happens. When we were and are crying out for creativity, to not use Ireland more was criminal.
