I understand that. But are you saying he was wrong to def out Wimmer, Berahino and Jese? I think that's one of his more commendable acheivements. It's a red herring to my way of thinking. It's the fact that he appears to be a shit coach, a terrible tactician and 10 years out of date in his approach to the game which makes me desperate for him to go. Not the fact that he's introduced discipline into a very ill disciplined squad. I think so. Berahino is way more use than Campbell. Why would you tell a player who you haven't played (in Wimmer) that he stands no chance of changing that? Jese deserved a chance to play too especially with Chopper's form. I really don't think it was the right time for it. Olive branches were the order of the day not a gatling gun. If they then throw that in his face then fair dos. But I don't think they overly have. I usually agree with you but you're massively wrong on this one, you didn't want the current manager so your trying every way possible to beat him with a stick no matter what he says or does, he can't win with you. He's doing what he can with what he's got. All the players he's banished are the ones who are totally useless, if it means they get fucked off out of the club at a loss to the owners then so be it. I'd rather have that than then hanging aroy D for the next few years stinking the place out.

What does he mean when he says? “For me personally, Stoke will not be any easier next year if things do not change in terms of training," He means they are no longer greeted at CW gates by Galdys Pugh tinkling away on a Xylophone.

I just don't think it's the right thing to do and there's no evidence to suggest otherwise. When Lambert signed I hoped he would give Jese and Berahino in particular a chance because we needed them. He didn't give Jese a chance. And when Berahino played, I thought he did ok. I just don't think it was the correct thing to do and if you want to do it, do it in the summer. It's got fuck all to do with Lambert.

It doesn't matter to me if he was the one who was rewarded the penalty, but his childish behaviour put extra pressure on a team mate. I think this incident showed Jese's selfish character and I really hope we never see him in a Stoke kit again!

If there were players not shoeing commitment to the cause and the managers demands he was right to banish them.
In fairness to lambert we've looked better since berahino, afellay and jese have been banished.
Despite being crap I do find it difficult to dislike lambert.

Would give him away for free at this point before he turns in a terrible Beharinho-Wolscheid monster who is not only worthless but unshiftable. We will recoup enough from Shaq, Butland, Allen and N'Diaye (and Sobhi?) in cash. We just need to be clear of Wimmer's wages creating a liability on the balance sheet, so we can bring in a more affordable, more useful player in the squad.

18m was a travesty of an amount to pay.... but I can almost feel it is good business to lose that amount to get rid of him.

Says a lot about Hughes' understanding of a good defender! He seems to have convinced the board that this was the real deal even if they were reluctant to pay that sort of money for this heap of crap! Sometimes you can really wonder how some footballers (and managers) can make a living out of such limited ability!?

Is this a fair guess/assessment of the situation, and why we ended up wasting so much time and money buying two players for the same position last season?
Carto spotted Indi. Hughes wasn't so sure as he wanted a ball player, tried to get Wimmer but was knocked back. They ended up with Indi late on loan. Hughes said he would take him and have a look. Club sorted a fee out in case the manager liked him. Indi performed very well. Club wanted Indi but Hughes still wanted Wimmer. Hughes dug his heels in and got Wimmer, but accepted Indi to get Wimmer.

With big doubts over Ryan’s long term fitness was looking at a 3 of Wimmer, Zouma, Indi. Got them in but was then told due to the spend we can’t subsidise 2 wingbacks. Why not make do with Dioufy and Eric.
