I wish it was grammatically correct, but I love it.
About time something was aimed at Coates.

Mistakes have been made & things need to change but give me local ownership over every other scenario every time, i for one am very proud to have a guy who actually is supporter of my wonderful if infuriating football club. No need for the banner in my opinion, he deserves every chance to do better & as davejohnno says just above, a lot of our issues have arisen from too much loyalty, there very same loyalty which i do not mind admitting has bought a tear to my eye at certain points in the last few years, the Delap broken leg for example. Post-mortem by all means, witch hunt not necessary. Perhaps it would mean the world to PC if we made a "Thank You for a Great 10 years" Banner?

If the owners finger isn’t on the pulse of the problem it’s majorly concerning. As I’ve mentioned when that quote came out a while back. That was the proverbial stake to the heart for me. Of all people seemingly associated with the club, it was shocking to find out Mr. Coates was elbowing with the chums not seeing this coming. 😔 This wasn’t some fluke. It happens, if they as owners can learn from it and shoot right back up and stabilize it can be a better outcome next go round if there is one. But to say this was solely on them is irrationally disturbing. The board, upper management and coaching staff needs massive culling. Scholes, Cartwright and the rest of the management staff should be first overboard off the plank come mid may for letting this happen on their watch. Then the board needs reshuffling. Hughes only saved his skin leaving before the comeuppance like the side he built, weak, soulless and foreign. That’s my take. You need to hire capable leaders and executors at all levels of the club.

I would think that Peter is hurting as much (maybe even more with a huge wedge of cash gone down the shitter) than anyone on here. I'm angry at the current situation but a few off the cuff supporting his manager comments made to a two bit local rag, when trying to keep things stable is hardly worthy of public disrespect. Personally I would hold off for 12 months before looking at forcing a change in ownership. Mistakes have been make and I am sure as shit that behind closed doors everyone is aware of that and is working hard to rectify it. You honestly want to bring more negative press on a family that have done more for this club in the last century than anyone else? Have a bit of decorum, we are talking about a club that honoured rory delaps contract, stood by their managers (perhaps too long but it's admirable all the same) and pioneered the free away travel, openly sought reciprocal away ticket prices and frozen season tickets for over a decade. Give your head a wobble, the banner should say something like "We are gutted, but we are stoke, loyal and around and we will be with you every step of the way" I would focus your anger at the cunts that have let this great club down and they are all on big fat contracts. Coates is the main reason we're in this mess. Coates is also the reason we where there in the first place ,the board have screwed up but for Gods sake does he really deserve the crap he is getting.

It instinctively feels wrong to me but then I think about starting next season with Lambert, Scholes and Cartwright and I think maybe the gloves should come off to a degree.
I can just about forgiving them having a two year long somnabulistic promenade to the Championship but how do you wake them fucking up?

I think if the latter two are here it’d be another slow blunder that would come to fruition like not getting rid of Hughes sooner.

I'm not surprised there has been a banner made in all honesty. If there is a group of supporters who are coates out then there entitled to there opinion. I for one think coates senior needs to take a step back and hire a chairman who has a footballing background to run the club for him coates junior isn't the answer for me. As much as I am thankful for what coates senior has done for the club i feel his legacy will forever be tarnished by the last 18 month's if/when we go down.

just a thought but if he gets abuse he then thinks fuck it they can all go to hell I dont need this shit at my age ,or we give him the thanks he deserves for the the last 10 years he might just think these supporters deserve better then these last few years and back us with everything needed to get back up ,just think back to the guys face in the stand when we clinched promotion ,he was one very happy man that day

It would have carried a lot more weight if it had got an apostrophe before the first s and a question mark at the end, it just looks a bit naff as it is. I haven't got a problem with the banner in principle. If it's true that we did indeed make an approach for Moyes in October, then it was an extremely disingenuous remark for Coates to make anyway. He didn't have to make it those remarks did he? And the banner isn't calling for him to step down or anything.

He didn’t sack Hughes earlier, that was his only problem. ‘What’s all the fuss about?’ was obviously a way to deflect what was happening as you can tell in the letter he sent a few weeks ago. He pays people to do jobs, Scholes and Cartwright are the ones who want fucking off.

Who knows what will happen in the future and wouldn’t we all love a crystal ball, but this is the typical city of Stoke on Trent attitude....yes sir, no sir, we know our place, careful what you wish for and it’s wrong to aspire to be better and second best is ok. For such a working class area we aren’t half good at playing our role in the owner and worker relationship.
I don’t think for one moment the grass is always greener, but to follow through blind loyalty when you get let down has some significant risks.

Respectfully I disagree. I think he HAS made mistakes, huge mistakes, however I feel that he has been let down by others both with influence and playing staff alike. Disasters happen all the time in organisations, it's usually a collective error of judgement. My personal belief is that our wonderful CEO is more implicated in this mess than the Coates family. For me they have enough credit in the bank to let them have some slack to rectify the situation. At the end of the day a lot of individual errors on the field of play have cost us big time, along with the current and previous management teams. He was the one who should have made the decison last May. That decision is the one that ultimately sank the ship. Plenty are to blame but the boards arrogance shouldn't go unmentioned. They took us for fools. Again I disagree, we had enough to land somewhere above relegation on paper. It didn't transpire but much more than Coates not getting rid last summer have hurt us.

I'm not a fan of it. I would imagine he already knows what a stupid statement it was and now he's probably suffering like the rest of us with the relegation.
Granted he's got a say in what goes on and most people could see what was going on. But that's what is so damn good about hindsight.

What does the chairman do? Takes the advice of others then has to make the decision.yes we made errors this season in having too much faith in Hughes etc. But it's his money who else wants to buy and invest in stoke. Not exactly queuing up are they. Lets see what happens in the summer can't image mr coated is sitting there enjoying it. We need change all over the club but at least we are secure financially. Own the ground and debts are managable. Let's not burn all are bridges at once
