As I've just posted on another thread, Wimmer is a classic case of a player "losing it" due to spending a year on the bench instead of playing regularly at the top level.
I think some people confused fitness with match fitness. It is one thing to be physically capable of performing for 90 minutes and another to do it and be mentally sharp throughout the game. So many of our players seem not to be mentally sharp and caught "dozing". We have seen it with Wimmer and repeatedly with Johnson. All the back line have been caught out repeatedly this season and some have just "lost it", notably Fletcher, who actually started the season quite well, and even Zouma has been found out a few times. Probably the worst example of all has been Jack's howler at Leicester which cost us points. Why is it that Stoke players have not only been unfit this season, but also not mentally sharp?

Wimmer isnĀ“t that bad and has already shown that at other teams. His time at Stoke is sadly very unfortunate

Maybe we could find a use for him as the mascot next season. Even then I reckon hippos shorts would be a 'tight fit'

My spurs mate tells me he was far from shit at Spurs. My Spurs mate sent me a gloating message as soon as we signed him. He could not believe how much we paid. Absolutely. I know lots of Spurs fans and they made a block booking for surgery to stitch up their stomachs which had split due to convulsive laughter. Their response - grateful disbelief - was pretty much the same as ours would be if in the next window Spurs offered Ā£18m* for...Berahino. Or in fact Wimmer. (* Or indeed a fraction of that amount).

Such is the magnitude of embarrassment surrounding this transfer i don't think we will ever get to hear the full truth of who's idea it was to sign him. I find it hard to believe that someone from the club actually went and watched Wimmer play before valuing the fat fucker at 18m.

But what makes them think, "we've got Zouma Shawcross Indi Muni Cameron and Pieters, let's sign an 18m CB? I like Wimmer (fuck you all I don't care ) but he was never needed and anyone could see that. It's just so odd. Eventually it'll come out. Some years ago Scholes went to some top London CEO awards gig. Levy was doing his hypnotist act, which he does in his spare time. By the end of the evening Scholes was strutting around the stage clucking and trying to lay an egg. Levy also gave him a key word, "Spurs". Now every time he says that word Scholes lays out Ā£m's (the eggs are long gone) on any player Levy suggests and can't remember anything about it but the sound of clicking fingers. Omg! Really? This is actually more plausible than what really happened!

He hasn't been helped by being shoe-horned into that 3 at the back, but that doesn't excuse the basic errors he made every week - such as losing men at the far post - or his general lack of fitness or application...
There's a decent player in there somewhere, but I haven't seen it yet.

Wimmer is very slow, but some other notable defenders have not been the quickest. Bobby Moore was one of these, but he could read the game and his positional play was excellent. He scores a few decent goals as well. I don't see any of these traits in Wimmer.

I really can't see him having any sort of future here, we need to cut our losses and offload if at all possible the problem with him and several others is who will take them after trhe season they have had?

The thing that galls me apart from the fact he is poor is that we didn't need him. The 18 million could have gone on a decent forward. A sickening waste of money. This. Post of the year.

He's not as bad as everyone says, but as said above we didn't need him. There was a logic to getting another centre back in as part of the plan to go to three at the back, whether Wwimmer was the right choice is a completely different matter. As we all know where the plan fell apart was the failure to sign any wing backs.

Lambert has quickly seen which players are total disgrace to the club, themselves, and football in general.
But we should have seen the cunts for what they are before we signed them.
I still want to know who signed them, who was their agent, and the connection between the agent and who signed them.

He suitable for a quality attacking team. He a non defending defender. If possible he's worse than Wolly and that takes some doing, you only have to look where Wolly has finished up to see where this fat fecker is going, whoever signed him needs sectioning.

Wimmer is a poor defender. I'm no conspiracy theorist but for the absolutely stupid amount we paid for home there's something very fishy about all of this and I think a few bank accounts should be closely scrutinised. His signing, instead of a decent centre forward, was the moment when the "benefit of the doubt" disappeared and you knew the club was run by fucking idiots at every level.

Well we have got him for another four seasons unless we can dupe some fools into taking him off our hands, now that would be some deal.
