Totally mis handled.
Enormous potential another player wasted at Stoke.
could have been developed into a amazing player.
The whims and venoms of managers/Coaches ?
What happened to Tunchay ?

Potentially an excellent footballer ruined by a club in decline. He never looked very good though. He had one trick to beat a man but was dreadfully slow, couldn’t cross and couldn’t shoot! Might look ok in Egypt but was found out against half decent full backs. Absolutely spot on. He looked as though he might have something about him on his debut but after that he always looked like a total passenger. No pace and a tendency to run into cul de sacs

A few dribbling skills but very one paced and the only professional I've seen who didn't know how to strike a ball properly.
I always get in early to watch the players warm ups and when they did shooting drills he could barely reach the goal.

Went to Hudds straight after and did fuck all there too. Never had the pace, and in the Premier League wasn't ever able to take the piss like he could in the Egyptian league which tbf is a pretty low standard. Tuncay a bit over rated too on here really, he just stood out because he was one of the few skilful players we had during the Pulis era. Even players that could beat a man like Ethers and Pennant didn't use loads of skill, they'd rinse people with pace and go outside really.

Always amused me that he moved to Udders as he didn't want to play for a relegated team, then they got relegated the following season! (not that he stuck it out with them).

Overrated or not his mid week performance in the snow against Fulham was one of the best I've seen in a stoke shirt. Before he came here he was still a big name in the PL

Somewhat amusingly Mo Salah rattles off about eight names of Egyptian PL players against the clock here... but Ramadan's evades him...

Before he came here he was still a big name in the PL Tuncay...good player, would have thrived under Hughes. I liked his book, Tuncay's 'Anley. It was a look at the largest of the Six Towns, through the beautiful, dark, eyes of an enigmatic, Turkish, professional footballer. Worth a read.

He also scored against West Brom in the game before.

Tuncay in the snow was one of the most stunning performances we'll ever see from a Stoke player. It's not even up for debate.

He did indeed, maybe we signed tom mince because he scored against us Tom Ince actually scored a goal to send us down, a last minute winner against somebody. I think it might have been Palace before we played them. It was in our hands before that goal.

Tuncay came at the same time as Robert Huth both from Boro after their relegation in 2009. Huth's arrival went somewhat under the radar whereas Tuncay was seen as a Rock the City signing. It couldn’t have turned out more differently.

Speaking of Tuncay I never miss a chance to post this from the great wordsmith Barney Ronay: >> Even as the good times began to roll Pulis felt the need to go out and sign the Turkey midfielder Tuncay Sanli in much the same way a socially aspirational 18th-century farmer might have imported at vast expense a clankingly useless Austrian harpsichord that nobody within 300 miles can play and which ends up being used to prop open the parlour door.

Barney was wrong though. Pulis treated Tuncay appallingly.

I think that is kind of what he is saying, acquired an instrument that was not great in the first place which was made worse by the fact that he did not know how to play it and so ended up using it to prop open the lavatory door.
