This sort of stuff never works for Stoke - it sounds all very rousing and the right thing to do but it just doesnβt come to pass. Iβm hoping for a scrawny 1-0 win after Everton have hit the post 5 times and had 98% possession.

Butland Bauer Shawcross Indo Stafylidis Allen Ndiaye Ramadan Shaq Jese Choupo Subs: Campbell Adam Crouch Zouma Grant We need to go for it from the off. We're at home and we HAVE to win. If we are winning at half-time then bring on Cameron and switch back to 4-3-3 Resist the temptation to play Crouch from the start. He needs to be our super sub. WE NEED GOALS and lots of them Stoke 26 - 2 Everton to improve our GD Thereβs no goals in that team, or any team we could play with the players we have at the moment. Agree theres not enough goalscorers but the point is we need to play 4 attackers and not just 3 as we are the moment. If he starts with a midfield 3 of Cameron/Ndiaye/Allen then it will be a bore draw for sure

This is the last time this season I'm going to allow the words Must Win out of my mouth but ffs, surely to God we can find an extra level for this one. Also seeing Lambo's tactical brain and the backbone he can put into a side against Fat Sam is a good test of quality for him, whether he can find the extra we need for the run-in. Hope not confidence for me tho tbh. So many improvements since he took over but not the extra level - even if it's not really there in our current squad a great manager can conjure it up for short vital periods somehow. Love to see the change of gear v Everton. Please please God... Extra level ? Thereβs a prospect. Iβve no idea what it would look like but hereβs hoping.

Well Wuzza, we will go down with negative approaches to a match, at the moment Twatkinson blows his whistle, we must be right in their throats!

Well Wuzza, we will go down with negative approaches to a match, at the moment Twatkinson blows his whistle, we must be right in their throats! Iβm struggling to imagine how we fashion a single goal at the moment ( other than Shaq pulling something out of nothing ) so the concept of βall out attackβ is very hard to get the head round.

And after just have watched Everton-Brighton its more than possible. The influental Sigurdsson (takes all set pieces etc) is out and Walcott was substituted with an injury so he may be out as well. If he plays he will be stopped by Staffy, and Bauer will take care of Bolasie. Other than that Everton offers no threat at all. Rooney had some good passes from his role as a defensive midfielder (!), he wont be allowed to do that at Bet365. We need to score ourselves and at the same time be more solid in the middle of the park. My two jokers are Shawcross to replace Zouma in defence (risky)? and Afellay with his intelligent play and passing of the ball. No one have seen him play for a while, no one at Stoke have told us why,its well worth a try as i remember him. In my team i have to choose from Badou or Allen, Badou just nicks it because he needs games. 4-2-3-1 Butland Bauer Indi Shawcross Staffy Affelay Zouma Shaq Badou Ramadan Jese Haugaard Allen Cameron Moting Berahino Pieters Crouch Onwards and upwards!! Said the same on my Lambert thread. We need to take it to them right from kick off. Get the crowd right behind the team by giving them something to get behind.

We need to enjoy our last four home games as they will be our last in the PREM for a good number of years. Just think about it. If Hughes had gone earlier like we all knew at the time he should of Big man Sam would have been in our dugout!
Coates out! (Would not go that far to be honest but he as frustrated me those season with his fuss comment and failure to act fast)

Lambert sees the players every working day and unless he sees something different in training, I expect he will go with the same starting XI with Diouf out injured.
I hope he picks a more youthful bench though and is prepared to give them a go if we start losing the match.
I expect it will be the usual tactic of taking no risks and waiting for Everton to give us a chance.
Big Sam will be taking no risks either so 0 - 0 looks likely. The biggest danger is that Rooney has a habit of scoring against us.
We have had some bad luck recently with missed sitters, missed penalty, and Butland's error, we need a bit of parity in fortune.

Butland
Bauer Zouma BMI Staffy
Allen Cameron Badou
Shaqiri
Jese Berahino
4312
Just for shits and giggles Shaqiri behind the front two set up the play and having a few shots himself
I think Shaqiri has proven his worth this season and stepped out of Arnautovic's shadow and consistently filled his boots in being our most valuable outfield player

We've spent long enough in the wilderness and I'm of an age when I'd be unlikely to see Stoke in the top flight again. You are right to say it would do some good to some supporters to rough it in the lower leagues, but why no join me and argue against the spoilt brats and whingers. It's our 10th year in the Prem., we have seen every other team bar the big 6 and Everton relegated, and I want it to go on and on, even if it is only mid-table. Many seem to have given up, and are not prepared to will their team on.

Jese can't play down the middle but he could do something out wide left. Choupo is reasonable in the air and more of a physical presence so I'd play him down the centre. Same team as the other night with that tweak but Crouch to come on later and if Ramadan comes on it needs to be earlier that 82 minutes!

I'm not saying Chapou is the perfect player for us, but my God he is way better than Jese on top! We can't play Jese as our main striker again, he is too slow and not able at keeping the ball up. At least Chapou is confident on the ball and doesn't look shit scared like Jese! My team for the Everton game will be this:
.................Butland................ Bauer..........Ryan...Indi........Staffy .................Cameron................ ........Allen.............Badou.......... Shaq.............Chapou...........Ramadan
Subs: Haugaard, Zouma, Pieters, Afellay, Fletcher, Crouch, Campbell.

Choupo-Moting has looked poor wide left of late but I still say some of our better performances this season coincide with him being up front. His lack of work rate is less of an issue and he's actually decent in the air. The best of the bunch in my opinion.....

Campbell wasn't great on his last outing but is he worth another look, nerves could have adversely effected his performance and nothing else seems to have worked.
