We couldn’t ask for a better opponent really. Their away record is almost as bad as ours. Also Big Sam knows he won’t be there next season and so do the players, it’s a club praying for the end of the season with nothing to play for.
Still, I don’t expect us to win.

Bore draw. 0-0. Both teams lack pace and creativity.

To win games from now on,we need the opposition to score some own goals.

We are a far cry from the team that beat them 4-3 at their place. Suppose it will be a winner takes all game for Butland and Pickford. Sory but I don't think either of them are good enough to be Englands No 1. Trouble is their is no one else. I think Jack just gets the nod in my book down to being braver at coming out. Crikey Pickford feet must be rooted to the line.

All those fans in January were right.
Didn't need a forward did we?
Pity none of them are around to explain their thought process now.

Crikey Pickford feet must be rooted to the line. He was retreating to his goal line against Brighton, until I saw that I thought he was a shoe in for the England spot with Jack not having been at his best recently. I don't envy Southgate having to make the call between them. I don't expect him to make it until the last minute giving them both time to balls it up or claim the spot with a great game. Sadly gone are the days of Banks and Shilton.

Win and I fancy us to stay up.
Fail to win and it wouldn’t surprise me if we don’t win another game all season.
That’s how big a game it is as far as I’m concerned....

Lose this game and its championship here we come for sure, with arsenal and spurs after this game surely we will be cut adrift by at least 6 points.. its last chance saloon for me the everton game, it really is the MUST win game dont even think a draw will do

There has been a lot of talk about “must win” games over the last few weeks, but Everton on Saturday really is one. Anything less than three points, and it’s curtains.

Sammy wants to extend his contract if he can so he'll be looking to finish the season with a flourish after a bad run, which ended with a win last time. He'll give Stoke nothing and I expect a draw.

The last 6 games we've played (bar city and leicester) I've said win and i'm confident, lose and we're down. And we've drawn almost all of them.
Typical Stoke, I wish we'd just fucking choose a side. Stay up easily or go down bottom you bastards.

It's been "the next game is a must win" for about three months and we've fucked nearly all of them up. I don't think we'll win again, and I'll finger my own bum if we score more than four in the process. We are really, really shite and looking at it objectively, we deserve to go down. It's been a litany of failures for over two years and the folks in charge really can't moan, because it's a catastrophe entirely of their own making. It's fucking gutting, for this chapter in our history to end in such a spineless, insipid, taking-it-right-up-the-poo-chute manner. It's really, really sad and quite embarrassing because it's not who we are supposed to be as a club. We're supposed to be smart, wise, savvy, aggressive, nasty, hard working and constantly stick two fingers up to everyone. Not jusy rolling over and going "ah well". And to add insult to injury, it looks like that banjo-string Benj was actually right all along. This. A large majority of fans could see this coming. It’s a shame the club management seemingly could not.

Also. Anyone who is picking Choupo to start a fucking game. What are you thinking? He's been terrible for months and essentially, is here for a pay day and is a complete passenger He cannot start So poor was the business in Jan that we’re left with Diouf - injured Jese - can’t hold the ball Berahino - not match fit Crouch - slows everything down and makes us one dimensional Campbell - in his cameo looked way off. May be worth another go. Not many options. Only option is to go 424 with no striker Just 4 attackers Shaq, Ramadan, Jese and Ireland.

Must say having seen the last two games, I can't see us winning another game this season. There is no constructive play from midfield , and if there was there is nothing up front to put it in the net. The last two games have been really disappointing , we are going down with a whimper.

The result will dictate player and fan morale for a good few weeks, likewise our league position. Fail to win and the hole we have dug is almost certainly too deep. There will be no positives left. Win it and we have more of the same to come! I can't get excited about this one. Only worried

The team and formation that Lambert picks will say a lot. We need to go for it and have more attacking players on. I would play 4-2-3-1
with a front 4 of
Ramadan Shaqiri Jese Crouch
4-3-3 is working defensively but our midfielders dont support the attack enough so we need to sacrifice a holding midfielder and go for it.
Sadly I think Lambert will stick with this plan and we wont score

Because they are currently far far better than us and we can't score goals. We'll be lucky to win one out of Everton, Palace and Burnley Arsenal are not playing very well in the league at the moment and it is not a forgone conclusion that they will beat us! There is also a chance that Tottenham may be without their best player too! We have to take each game one game at a time and believe that points can be gained off anyone. Even last nights game against one of the best teams in Europe showed that we do have more resilience than a few months ago.

Brighton was a must win, then Southampton was a must win. We won neither. Face reality people, it’s going to be midweek trips to Reading & Brentford next season, we’re a dogs dick of a club, top to bottom. You're right about the previous 'must win' games but this really is a win or bust game. Win and we've still got a chance of staying up, if we lose it then we're gone, no doubt about it.

Another poster recently posted that he didn't think we'd win another game this season, I laughed at the time but no more. I can't see where the goals are coming from. We'll draw with Everton was me I was thinking the same and last night only quantified the thought. I see us 0-0 with Everton

We are creating nothing. Everton are very beatable.

Newcastle is a must win. (loss) Watford is a must win. (0-0) Bournemouth is a must win. (loss) Brighton is a must win. (1-1) Leicester is a must win (1-1) Southampton is a must win (0-0) Everton is a must win. West ham will probably be a must win. Burnley will be a must win. Palace will be a must win. Swansea will probably be a must win.
Had a few this season eh? Some of those were banded "our biggest game in 10 years".

We are creating nothing. Everton are very beatable. Absolutely. We need to be attacking and the midfield trio of Allen, Badou and Cameron have got no creativity whatsoever so we need an 'attacking' midfielder to take the place of one them and play a 4-2-3-1 with the attacking mid roaming forward. Ireland is the best option for that role, I just don't hold out much hope of Lambert actually playing him though. Ramadan in for Choupo is a no-brainer but again I don't think Lambert will do it.

We have to take some chances with selection to try to increase our creation of goal scoring opportunities. Drop Geoff and play Shaq as a no.10 in front of Badou and Joe. Get Ramadan in on the left, move Choupo to the right and pray that Shaq playing behind him helps Jese. Get Ireland and Campbell on the bench instead of Fletch and Johnson so we at least have more options to try to change the game in our favour.
Wins may keep us up, but draws definitely won't.
