Prefer Mackems to the Pukey Brown's. A chap I got pally with during the Isle of Man tournament changed from Sunderland to their hated rivals when he started dating a Newky fan. Unbelievably bad! Mind you there have been a few saddo's I've worked with here in Yorkshire who changed from one scum club to another - from Leeds to Man Utd. And they were adults!

Daftest rivalry going! but you are a vile club. I was just reading when clive Clarke had his cardiac event whilst playing for sunderland they couldn't bomb him out of the club fast enough.compare that to how we treated rory delap 2 games into a loan spell he broke his leg[v sunderland quell surprise] not only did the club stand by him we also assured him he would be getting a contract.this is why he probably raises money for childrens hospice in stoke.

I’m not understanding your point how that makes us a vile club. Firstly you’re comparing a heart condition to a broken leg. We’ve had players who have broken their legs before and we’ve still stuck by them. It was a mutual agreement due to medical advice (he also did not make a single appearance for Leicester after the incident) and therefore he was not able to continue playing...hence why he retired from playing after the incident and is now a football agent. That reasoning you gave for a vile club doesn’t make sense. It’s like saying Bolton are vile for mutually agreeing to end Muamba’s contract...

Cleary a Stoke fan on a message board knows more though so I’ll accept your view that we couldn’t wait to get rid and ignore the fact it was medically advised...

the player himself has come out and said he was bombed out. enjoy your stay in div 1 Any evidence to back that up? Clarke spent 10 days in hospital and was told by consultants that his chances of playing again were very slim. He was fitted with a defibrillator and, thankfully, there have been no follow-on problems to this day. Having got himself back fit over the course of several months, he toyed with the idea of a return to football but thought twice and announced his retirement after Motherwell captain Phil O’Donnell died in a similar incident that January. “It was around Christmas time, I’ve got a young family and if even though there was a slight chance I could possibly get back playing I thought there was no way I could risk it,” he says. “As a Wicklow boy, I’m very proud that I could come over and live my dream. There were a lot more things I wanted to achieve in football because I was only 27 but at the same time you’re relieved — especially when you see other people who have lost family members through cardiac arrest or heart attacks.” www.the42.ie/clive-clarke-irish-footballer-interview-agent-3409021-May2017/Sounds like his own decision to me.

I am sure the owners of scfc would stand by any player suffering the same fate. our owners have class its a shame your owners do not.

If you can’t give me a link then that’s fine, but I just can’t accept what you’re posting if you can’t give me a link, I’m sure you can understand that and would be the same if the shoe was on the other foot. Now if you stated the Adam Johnson thing it would have been more difficult for me to argue... I agree that Ellis Short is a wanker and lacks class. I have wanted him gone for ages, I’ve said that from the very beginning. We’ll just agree to disagree on the Clive Clarke thing.

I have no reason to actually hate Sunderland. Except they pissed me off every season by being in the relegation zone, getting a new manager in February/March, beating 5 of the top 6 in their last 7 matches and miraculously staying up before repeating the cycle for about 10 seasons.
