The best weekends are the ones we don't play in.
Good results yesterday though.

I really don't understand why people here say Southampton won't go down? They only have 3 home games left and two of those fixtures are against Chelsea and Man City. I think Southampton will be relegated with WBA and one of Palace, West Ham or Huddersfield. I've become a believer, we'll stay up!

And they've got one foot in the grave already.

We could not have wished for better results yesterday.
Now, if we can somehow grab a point.... or three
But if not, it's no worse than the start of the weekend unless we get walloped, but I can't see that happening. I hope the lads are up for it and smarting about the seven put past them earlier.

Defensively we have been very sound lately, and if we can keep that organisation and comittment I think we can stay up. We won't be scoring for fun, but we will create enough to win some of our games. Time will tell if we actually can do it, but I have started to belive after seeing how we have picked up our game defensively. For the rest of the season it's imperative that Wimmer, Fletcher and Adam won't play as these 3 make us so vulnerable defensively.

We look much more solid now, and I still think we will have enough to grind out a few more points. I agree it looks like West brom, Southamptons run in is terrible, plus one other.

Been saying for weeks now that Southampton are in deep doo doo with six of their last nine games away from home and three very difficult home fixtures. In fact I predicted that Saints would only gain two more points with nine games to go and was pilloried for saying it. Well after yesterday’s sound beating at the Toon I still stand by that. Their fixtures are that horrendous and they just can’t score a goal. Gonners with WBA and Huddersfield in my opinion, but we still have to do our part!

Now a point against Man City would be a result.

Some teams now look ok now - Brighton, Bournemouth, Watford - but Southampton, Palace and West Ham are looking seriously shaky. On paper West Ham look too good to be serious candidates for the drop but the scenes yesterday will have done nothing for their chances of staying up. Just shows how important the 12th man might prove to be - and I'm glad to say at the ground at least we look to have the edge over some of our rivals in that department,

2 more good results today! I know Bournemouth and especially Watford are quite a ways off us, but the start of some bad form for them can only help us with as many teams as possible within touching reach!

The best set of results we could possibly hope for in reality.
Can we somehow nick a surprise win that would get us out of the bottom 3?

Stay up and SURELY, the 'powers that be' will wake up and DO something about the situation we've found ourselves in
