Afterword/digression/aside: It's perhaps no coincidence that moden day elite footballers have the physique of Tour de France cyclists. Does anyone remember those *rumours* many years ago alleging Wenger taking all the Arsenal players to a hotel to undergo 'corrective' treatment?

The OP is full of contradictions. He rightly praises Arnie and Shaqiri but both were Mark Hughes signings so to say that Mark Hughes has ruined this football club is just hysteria. Signing Arnie for 3M will go down as one of the best signings in our history. We will also end up making profits on Shaqiri and Allen. Fair enough we can lay the blame for Imbula , Wimmer and Berahino at Hughes door but even so, with the money we recouped from the sale of Arnie that is still only about 28M. If we are saying that we can't afford to sign players after spending 28M then serious questions need to be asked of the board, who have banked hundreds of millions from successive TV deals. Hughes undoubtedly made mistakes as all football managers do but our present situation is much more down to our boards complacency than anything else. This is total codswallop. Who is the “WE” in “we made a profit”? I certainly didn’t get to share in it. All I’m getting for my TV subscription and season ticket is complete dross. However, if I were a shareholder, I would have called for the firing of the manager and resignation of the board a long time ago, The way Coates runs the club is clear indication that he does not run BET365, which is managed by his children, who give him pocket money to play in the sandbox, which is the BET365 Stadium. Coates no more of a clue about running a football club than Mr. McGoo.

With respect I think your post is garbage but good luck with getting the board to resign.
