3-5-2 . Wingbacks and plenty of crosses. Expose Stones for the fraud that he is.

Given no chance at all there is no pressure on and for once I won't be too pissed off when we lose. Just hope Jack keeps the score down to single figures as I can't see a better opportunity for him to claim the England jersey. Has any team played 1-9-1 formation before? 1-10 is required! I thought I was being expansive^

Best hope is for shit weather to level the skill a little and then some very early reducers so they hopefully will be fearful of major injury. Hopefully Pep then asks his chaps to nicely not try and save themselves for later games.....then we need to actually try. Otherwise, well we are just screwed.

902 passes in a single match is a Premier League record, according to Opta Stats. Boring when Man City do it but the best football ever seen when Pep's Barcelona or Brazil of the 70's ?? You pass, for your opta stats, you pass, for your opta stats. I'll be disappointed if we don't win 7-2.

They are very good at FALLING DOWN and looking TO GET TRIPPED especially in the 18 yard box.
I greatly admire them but hate the cheating that goes on in the modern game.
PS Media heroes Kane and Ali are good at it to.

Been a few years since I posted on here.Looking forward to coming to your place despite Sky messing up yet another kick off time.Great move getting rid of Hughes, he bought players for us that we struggled to get rid of years later,Santa Cruz springs to mind . Genuinely hope you stay up as it’s a near Away day and there are many others that I would prefer see the back of for a while.I have watched us for decades and this is the best team I’ve ever seen but Football is unpredictable as I witnessed at Wigan the other week. This season will be eventful for all. Regards Hughes and co have pretty much fucked up every club they have been too.

Our only hope:
Guardiola is kidnapped by Spanish secret service as well as his backroom staff and the Spanish contingent, charged with treason and imprisoned awaiting trial

I'm looking forward to it about as much as I'm looking forward to the next time I shit myself in public. Pisser. By "next time" are you implying that it's happened before? Yes. Three times as an adult and once as a 8 year old kid

My tin hat is well and truly on but I think Crouch must play. We cannot possibly try and play out from the back because they swarm all over you and there is no point hoofing the ball up to jese.
We need to go all industrial and lump it up to Crouchy and then somehow get someone up with him - Shaq? - to pick the bits up and hold it up, simply to give us a breather and any possibility of scoring.

As daft as it sounds given our situation it's probably the first game since Man Utd away on Jan 15th that the players will be able to play without pressure. I think our fans will stick with the team whatever happens on Monday, nobody expects us to get a result and hopefully the players will be motivated by that and put in a committed display.

This is a game I think Paul Lambert is actually ideally suited for in setting us up defensively.
But we aint gonna score in a million years with what we have upfront.
A 1 or 2 nil defeat will be satisfactory and not dent the confidence too much.
Stick Diouf or Jese upfront and drop Choupo for Ramadan

Stick Diouf or Jese upfront and drop Choupo for Ramadan If we play Jese or Diouf up top on their own we will get slaughtered. Look at Chelsea yesterday. They played Hazard up front on his own and he got no-where near the ball. It could only have worked if they'd have been able to play the ball out from the back in a controlled fashion. They couldn't because Man City press right up on your 18 yard box. The upshot is you either lose the ball or you have to resort to lumping it. Chelsea are a much better side than us and Hazard is a much better player than either Jese or Diouf but by lumping it up even in the direction of Hazard it simply returned the ball to Man City to start all over again. We should accept in this one game that we are going to have to hoof it clear and play the only player we have who can possibly hold up a hoofed ball and then lay it off if we can ever get a player close to him. Unfortunately this is the only way I can see we can relieve any pressure and get ourselves up the pitch with any kind of intent. Has anyone tried going proper route one against them before?

This is the one game out of those left that we need to be dusting off the old Pulisball manual. I believe there's a copy taped under the managers seat of the dugout at the stadium.

Anyone else really looking forward to this? Literally everyone has written it off as a hammering, and chances are, yes we will lose comfortably. But then I imagine Wigan thought that the other week too. There is absolutely no pressure on us for this game because we are expected to get smashed. I actually think this situation might suit us a bit more. Today was tense and nervous because of where Soton are in the table, and the implications if we were to lose. It'll be a great atmosphere under the lights, against the champions elect, on TV, a proper siege mentality, backs to the wall, old school feel to it. Football throws up some strange results at times. It's only a very very small chance, but it's still a chance. I wouldn't completely write off this fixture just yet. Imagine the lift it would give everyone going into the Everton game? I always look forward to the match - since I have to travel 4,000 miles!

We should just go proper old school long ball 'Pulis style'. Long punts up to Crouchy by the touchline, win the throwins, Bauer has a decent long throw, Apache war cries, chuck in a few towels as well to waste time. And two solid banks of 4 at the back. Lovely. As I said before has anyone ever had a go at them proper long ball? Get straight to the heart of their only weakness, their defence and especially their defence in the air.

Absolutely bang on the money here LG. There fitter than us, press harder than us, technically more gifted than us. Its simple. I would play crouch up top for this one along side Diouf (if fit) Long ball and direct approach is the only way we will ever compete against these. When we start trying to play from the back they will press us that hard we will end up losing the ball or giving it away in our own half putting stupid amounts of pressure on us. This a proper tony Pulis Job. Time waste at every opportunity. Delay free kicks. Kill the momentum. 11 Players behind the ball job. Throwing bodies everywhere. And hope we do enough. If anyone thinks we can get the ball down and try to play round them watch us get beat 4/5-0.

Their fans are starting to grate, now. Just had one on TS saying how well they had recruited, lately and "How can people play us?". Fuck off, mate, you were run worse than us until Sheik Yamani bailed you out.
You've bought the fucking title, cup and anything else you win. Yeah, miracle workers, aren't you, buying all the best players and fashioning them into a good team?
Smug, deluded cunts.

Then they loan them out and don’t give a F—-K about the players career. Chelsea are the same. Should not be allowed.
