I'm at depression now I was at anger in about November. We are plummeting at the moment and the next 6 games look bleak, it could all be over by the time we play arsenal.

On the brink of acceptance with this Newcastle result, everyone else seems to be able to pull 3 points out their arse, not us.

I have been at depression since the Watford game, but the Huddersfield and Newcastle wins are pushing me towards acceptance at an alarming rate.
We are down. Let's start planning a route back.

A couple of years ago I started a thread saying I thought Hughes had lost the plot, it was the window after our 6-1 thrashing of Liverpool and everybody including Hughes was talking about next levels, top six and all that bollox. I got a hiding on the Oatie for suggesting he had lost the plot. That pre-season was horrific I whinged about no replacement for Nzonzi and the below average signings, the letting go of our best central defender to one of our rivals and the frighteningly poor defence in our pre-season friendlies, the game against Porto sent shivers down my spine, as a defensive unit we were utterly dross. I whinged in the next window and the next about lack of cover in defensive positions, no athleticism in the middle of the park - yet only myself and Benji could see what was happening I was not in denial but angry that the club was going backwards massively from a position of strength - the club, however, was in denial and quite a few of our fans to. When we signed Fletcher I was depressed, when Arnie went angry, quickly followed by acceptance that this season was going to be a relegation battle. Then we got rid of Hughes and with it came a glimmer of hope, could we sign a forward thinking man, somebody modern, a great coach and mind. Then came Lambert and with it anger followed quickly by depression and after yesterdays game back to acceptance At the start of the season I predicted between 35-40 pts while some on here were still predicting europe I would take 35pts right now - sadly I think we all would.

Acceptance for me
I don't know why but Stoke and the Premier league have destroyed my passion for the game.
Im 28, I've got a well paid job, no kids & plenty of time to go to games. I really can't be arsed with it anymore.
I didn't celebrate our equaliser yesterday, just stood there as those around me went nuts.
I've been all over supporting Stoke in different leagues and next season just may well be a pick and choose season rather than have a season ticket.
I get more enjoyment stood on the sideline with a pack of chips at Leek Town

Depressed yes, but the 'deceased' is still in intensive care and the medics have yet to suggest the life support be turned off. So let's not start planning the Stoke funeral quite yet. We need a miracle, but they do happen. Think you're in step 1 still 😀

I don’t know whether it’s because I’m going next week, but I seem to be going backwards in my Grief, from depression to bargaining/Hope. I have been to see Stoke more since Christmas, than the rest of the season. Not sure whether this taps into the natural mindset of a typical Stoke fan. The them & us mentality, but there it is...

I've been at a stage of acceptance since the Brighton game. After we scored the equaliser against Everton I said to myself "doesn't matter, we'll still lose" and when we did I felt nothing. Said it for a while now but the past 2/3 years have sucked all joy I had for football out of me. The only optimism I have right now is the hope there will be mass change at all levels at the club during the summer.. something I doubt will happen.

Football-fate is a cruel mistress, and she's sadly having her revenge for our unlikely decade in the spotlight

I think 5 and 4 are the other way around for me.
I've been convinced we were screwed for several weeks already so have accepted it as a fact for some time, hoping to be surprised, but not expecting.
Sadly, I wake up in the morning and the first thing I remember once I come to is that we're going down and that's pretty depressing.

I'm at 5 but probably not all 5 experienced.
I still had hope at 3.15 on Saturday until charlie fucked it for everyone. or Atkinson if you prefer.
on Saturday evening I just didn't know what to do with myself. pissed off eating dinner, pissed off watching TV. even eastenders couldn't lift it!
Sunday I decided to get out of the house and go to centre of milan even if it was pissing rain. bought some shoes and feel a bit better. smashed some FPS game, owned a few newbs and entered stage 5 whilst I lay in bed, cupping my balls for comfort.
at the end of the day, the club is not in a bad place. youth academy, rich backers, potentially 150m in saleable player assets. it's nothing like Sunderland. in the past I would have dreaded next year in the Championship, but I've come to the conclusion that it is inevitable and we just have to crack on.
forever stoke City.

Just when I get to five I find myself lapsing back to angry. I am so fuckin angry with the incompetent toss pots(the board, managers and players) I’m not sure how I will ever move on until I see those culpable held to account and sacked, removed or contracts terminated.

Unfortunately in life there are innocent victims (in a way you are one) and those that go through life walking over others and are Teflon coated. I remember an old TV series when a left wing union leader was berating the head of the bank that was winding up the business and putting people out of work. The union leader said "Where will you be when we have a revolution and nationalise the banks?". To which the bank man replied:"Probably head of the National Bank".

4.5 - I will only really accept it (although I know it's going to happen now) when we come to the end of the season, and we have that R by our name. Until then, it's depressing - it's like watching someone sinking in quicksand...

I’ve got a horrible, surreal Groundhog Day thing going on. II keep forgetting what a mess we’re in , I’ll get distracted for a bit by work or women or something then I’ll remember that I think we’ve probably had it. Every few minutes it’s like realising for the first time that we’re going down. Must be some form of denial/depression cycle so I’m 1 to 4 and back again (repeat).....,I hate this and it’s going to go on for weeks
