Its painful watching him perform. Utter dross the bloke is a shambles and confidence shot. All he wanted to do in a must win game was play the safe ball backwards. We sign a new left back and still keep picking Pieters. I dont get it.

Pieters isn't the main problem; in fact he’s way down the list IMO, he's been very good defensively lately. Gouranga.

He has been much better defensively but it is true he does kill any forward momentum we have when he gets the ball. I suspect he rarely plays a forward ball or crosses because he's shit at both those relatively simple disciplines. It depends what you want from your left back. PS why was Staffy not on the bench? Injured?

Pieters is not stopping the momentum. It was clear as day to see that he is not the problem. NO FUCKER MOVES IN FRONT OF HIM. He doesn't ever have a pass available, so forces him to hold onto it and go backwards or sideways. Do you actually go to the games?!

Then again you'd blame him for that too.

Injured? I don't entirely disagree with you but what we needed was for defenders to defend firstly to stop all the stupid goals we were conceding, Erik has done that but he has had Cheapo in front of him who somtimes makes Ricaro Fuller look like he'd overdosed on whizz, his crossing does need to improve a lot but what has Hughes been doing in training with him for 4 years? Gouranga.

Him and Fletcher were the worse two on the pitch yesterday, seem to lack the basic fundamentals that are required to play Sunday league football never mind premier league.

Point 3 Is that because of the lack of movement in front of him. Just a thought

If their was players making runs i promise you he would go forward. He tries to do it but never has a pass on.

He's been great defensively the past couple of weeks, actually.
He does kill all momentum pissing around with these throw-ins though.

EDIT - he also can't throw for shit, he wouldn't be able to "lug it in there" - get someone else to take it!

Pieters has been ok defensively lately, but God what an awful crosser of the ball he is! Is there any worse left backs at this than our Erik playing at this level?

Wait for somebody to come short for a one-two and watch Pieters flout another cross into the stands? I'd also argue Crouch(albeit not playing yesterday) is taller than the seven dwarfs all put together.

If any fucker moved when we had a throw it would certainly fucking help. We’re like pissing statues In the second half yesterday there were at least 3 throw in's where a quick throw was on and another 2 where a throw square to Butland was on. However, we seem to have been robotically programmed to throw the ball down the line to er...remind me who again.....to lose an aerial duel and for the ball to come straight back. It doesn't help that we are static though but that is a fault throughout the side. It's like 'football by numbers' at times which was why Jese was a breath of fresh air when he came on despite his many and obvious limitations.

Crouch for being seven foot tall doesn’t win enough attacking headers he just fouls the defender 90% of the time. Our throw in “routines” are fucking shite full stop. All I’m saying is it’s not all Pieters fault
