I watched a bit of the championship highlights on five tonight to get used to it for next season. Families faces of Warnock and Pulis. Pure football awaits!

If you support Stoke, you will mainly see them play in either of the top two leagues, unless we are really shit and you get a few seasons in the third tier. My first match was in 1963, 55 years ago, in that time I have watched 37 seasons in the top flight, 17 in the second flight and 2 in the 3rd flight. It is great when we go up. It is crap when we go down. But sometimes we have to go down to come back up. It is what you make of it. For me 55 years of great memories and great friendships whatever league we were in. It would be nice to win the premier league, but I don't think I will live to see it. Hughes as left us with a weak squad and we have appointed a mediocre manager, with a poor back up team. We will probably be relegated. And if Lambert stays he will need help, in the form of an experienced first team coach and someone who knows the players of the lower leagues. People like Scholes and Cartwright will be of no use in that situation. Probably not have been any use for a while to be honest. But just enjoy your football whatever league we are in.

I walked in tonight and said to the good lady wife that after following my beloved Potters through thick and thin since 1968 maybe the time had come to seek that new challenge in life once we are relegated at the end of this season. I also said that because I’ve done the lower divisions over the years, experienced the Ups and Downs, laughed, cried tears of joy and tears of pain ( which far outweigh the tears of joy) maybe it’s time to pack in. Then I said something which stopped me in my tracks. The words were “maybe I have become a glory hunter thanks to the Premiership” Even now typing this and sitting and enjoying a bottle of Doombar those words hurt. I’m numb tonight to think what the ten years of being in the premier league has done to me. There will be positives of being in the championship as others have said but going down won’t be pleasant. When the numbness wears off who knows maybe I will carry on going to watch my beloved Potters next season and the season after that and following seasons but at the moment it’s like knowing good things have to come to an end but not wanting to face up to it. Now where’s the bottom of that beer glass🥛

Not in the slightest.
Will I still go to the games when I can (obviously an exile) as I do today - yes. Bet 365 doesn't need Stoke anymore and I think relegation could have worse consequences than a lot think. But I was on the grassy bank at Wigan so Ive seen it all before........
The truly sad part is its all so avoidable. Rank bad management from top to bottom.

I'm not. I never got the inverted snobbery thing when some of us said they would prefer not to be in the Premier League. And it pissed me off when people habitually moaned about every aspect of the Premier League.
At least those whingers will be satisfied now.

Not right now, no. If relegation is confirmed (which realistically won't happen until May) then I will prepare. But until then, I live in hope that we pull something from where the sun doesn't shine and put a few good results together. Because that could just be about enough to stay up.
I think realistically we will be in a position where we need to win our last game (or maybe last two) and have other results go our way.

We are the eighth longest serving club in the league so it was going to happen soon.
My only regret is we've never really given it a real 'go'. What I mean is, with the money behind the owners, I don't know why they didn't go that extra yard for a season or two to bring the quality in that would help us win a trophy.
In the championship, if the owners want us to get promoted straight away, they could do that easily by covering the costs of keeping the squad together bar butland, shaq, choupo, and bring in a couple of midfielders, a proven striker from that level.
But will they? I'm not sure what they want for the club.
Mainly, I hope the fans don't just give up. We have a bit of a small time attitude and readily walk away when things look bad, we should keep packing the ground out and be proud of the club we are, which in the championship would be one of the biggest clubs with the tools to go straight back up

Even if we get relegated I will be looking forward to next season more than this one which only promised more stagnation and decline. I never thought we would go down but there was no positive momentum about us any more. The championship is a big opportunity to turn that around.

Go on then, £50 says we're going down. You say we're staying up. Loser gives £50 to Donna Louise Trust just giving page in their username and posts a screenshot or link on here. What do you say? i will offer 20 pounds that we stay up . I dont have the gambling mind set, belief in stoke or funds to make it 50 OK mate, but I'd rather you didn't lose the money if you don't have the funds, even if it is effectively a donation to a good cause. Plus, you don't sound convinced you're going to win! I'd rather take the bet with someone who's confidently stating we're gonna stay up, like Volvic but he's been very quiet since I offered! £20 says we're going down. Same conditions. Confirm if you want it, no shame if you don't.

I'm now resigned to going down. I will always be there but feel a bit deflated at the minute. The only good thing that can come out of it all is the chance to rebuild and get the fighting side back to the team, Campbell might get a chance and it may wake some up ( like my friend Keith) who think we should be competing for Europe each season

I’ve seen us in the lower leagues before both at the bet 365 and the vic. I’ve got admit I walked in the house tonight and said I’m not sure I can be arsed with this anymore. As it stands I won’t renew to watch shit championship football. Perhaps the premiership has spoilt me. The thought of watching Barnsley Cardiff forest etc etc on a cold wet night does not reall appeal to me So your totally happy to watch shit premiership football

Some of the posts on here represent the apathy at club level.
Maybe it's just typical Stokie depression, but to say because your club is potentially dropping a league you won't go to see them? Absolutely farcical! I'm going to say this, and this isn't dick measuring. If you can't handle the tough times, if you can't stay behind the club during it's shit, even when we know the remedies ourselves etc. Then you damn right don't deserve to watch Stoke City when we are flying high.
Piss off and support a big 6 club, then you will get the consistent glory!
I myself will still be there through thick and thin, i'm not happy clapping, I'm angry to my core at the current goings on at the club. And what angers me more is the fact I love this club so much, the fact it is in my blood, I will accept the shit and still go! There is no other connection like it!
Premier League, Championship, National League! When my brother took me to see my first stoke game (a Scunthorpe 1-0 win at home, I'm 25) this club got in my blood.
I will be there next year no matter what, and so should you lot!

I love it. However yesterday it felt like a huge effort to get ready, then I sat and watched an abysmal performance again. I walk in and think what is the point in that? At least on a Sunday morning I see kids/blokes showing passion.

Can't imagine Bet365 are in for as much exposure I can't wait to see if they're still as keen to slip Stoke references in to their advertising if we do go down. At the minute, Stoke have a global recognition piggy-backing off Bet365, but ....do they show the Championship in Malaysia?
