By that logic, why would ANY club let it happen? Three teams have to go down and the three who do go down do so because they did less well than 17 other teams. 20 teams are trying to avoid being one of the worst 3 teams and they all have their own dreams and ambitions. But 3 HAVE to go down. If every single club in the Premier League spent £200m each on buying the best players possible three of them would still have to get relegated. None of them are 'letting it happen' but it has to happen to somebody and this season it may be us. For the first real time in 10 years we're involved in that fight. Mistakes have been made and the board invested too much faith in a man who'd previously done well for the club. If they could go back and have another go at this season I'm sure they'd do it differently. You're an intelligent bloke Pugs and you know all this. If every club spent the same then I'd accept it but we all know that isn't the case. Mistakes have been made ever since we've been in the PL and it's culminating in relegation. 10 years and all that money yet we're still not a forward thinking modern day PL club. Very much like the City itself, we're a backwater. If we go down we are screwed. Another quarter of a century in the wilderness. Would they really do anything differently this season? I very much doubt it. I had some very good times in the wilderness last time.

Seems extremely unlikely that there is a plan in place to deliberately bring about relegation. But if such a plan exists it’s fucking working!
