Crouch starting a game and some said we didn't need another striker Have they? Thought the general consensus was that we did want another striker. Must have seen dozens of posts saying exactly that.

How the hell does crouch deserve a start? Truely baffling! This is again going to be shit to watch! long ball to crouch who flicks it onto....oh nobody! NDiaye makes a surging run through midfield and trys to slip a through ball through to crouch! All we can expect here is crossing to crouch! most probably from Pieters...

True to his word.
He said we were better on Wednesday when Crouch came on and he has been praising Johnson in training. I think he will try a number of different combinations before he settles on his first XI. He has rewarded the defence after a second clean sheet. We need some accurate centres onto Crouch's head, for Allen and Ndiaye to feed off.
Yeah but that was a different formation (4-2-4) but essentially Crouch had a strike partner.
This formation is a completely different animal with Crouch playing as the lone striker.

Indeed Crouch and Diouf is a different thing altogether. Bournemouth do concede more than other sides from headers mind. + Diouf looked knackered on Wednesday.

Shall we run a book on crouch's average height when he jumps today?
I'll start the bidding at 5ft6.

Everyone crying about Crouch starting normally means Crouch will score. If only I was a betting man!

To be fair, I wouldn't be surprised if he has been simply dropped from the squad.
I can't really envisage a situation where you would think, "ah who should I bring on now to change things? ... I know, Darren Fletcher he could be a good."

Fletcher dropped from squad? He deserves to be, very poor vs Watford.

The headed rebound header crouch put straight at the gk on weds was shocking, he needs to take his chances today, he is a lucky lucky man to keep getting starts. He's off the bench man for 10 mins maximum.

Big game for Cameron. On paper he's probably the best player for that position however he's looked old and slow of late.

Pace or not we are a more of a threat when Crouch is in the side. If it's a bet on Crouch to score or Diouf to score, I would always go with Pete and as someone else has said, bringing Diouf on against tired legs makes good sense.

Crouch starting is a strange one, especially with Adam (the man most likely to drop it on his bonce) not in the side.
Still, would be no surprise to see big Pete shut the doubters up with a goal. Looking forward to seeing what big Badou can do.

Criuch deserves a start on the premise that his two only competitors for the place have both been crap lately. He's also a leader on the pitch, and we need leaders. Moreover it's not Crouch's fault that Shawcross et al go hoofball whenever Crouch is on. He has shown often enough that he's splendid with his feet. Let's hope NDiaye tries a one two with Crouch. It would catch B'mouth completely by surprise.

I shuddered when I heard Crouch was starting, for the reasons many have stated so often. However, I am giving Lambert the benefit of the doubt and hoping Crouch will not be as isolated as he was for much of his time under Pulis and Hughes.
It has worked on occasion, like when we beat Villa 4-1 away and had Wingie, Arnie and Crouch linking up. Hopefully Choupo, Badou and others can do a similar job today. That's what I'm clinging to.
If it's hoofball to an isolated Crouch I will be pissed by half time.

Crouch starting a game and some said we didn't need another striker How do you know he wouldn't have played Crouch even if the we had got a striker in? Answer. You don't. As someone has already pointed out Bournemouth are small and are vulnerable to set pieces. On those grounds Crouch is a pretty good option. Oh - and just to save you the effort - it's all Hughes's fault anyway.

Would rather Berahino start, with Crouch as an option After watching Berahino at Coventry i would find it very hard to choose him over Crouch. He really was that bad.
