Same here would rather have seen Berhino given a chance. He hasn’t scored in 2 years mate. Give up He has not had much game time in 2 years thats probably why.

Indi not in the squad either, start berahino or Diouf over crouch and that's a great team

No Ireland on the bench, surely a better option than Adam

Not going 3 at the back are we?

That would have been my selection except for Crouch. I’d have preferred Diouf or Berahino up front. Maybe we’ll more possession and create more chances for Crouch with Badou in the side. Interesting that Fletcher is not even on the bench. Is Diouf injured or just being rested after playing two games in five days?

No complaints from me re Crouch with a faster CM holds the ball up better than Diouf and cleverer

Looks like the MF most would have wanted.
No Plan B off the bench no though - he's starting.

Can’t understand how he’s going to play with Crouch up top our players are shit at playing the long ball game no of them bar Shaq are that accurate! Strange to drop Diouf you like to think he’d be working their back line with some energy and running who’s Crouch going to knock down a ball to Choupa and Shaq are never close enough! Guess we are trying on Adam or a Badou debut goal

Haven’t thes been a bit ropey from set pieces? Can only imagine that’s why crouch is in there.

I’m assuming he’s playing crouchy to hold onto the ball and bring forward runners like badou, Allen, shaq, and choupo into the game as a back-to-goal type forward.

Indi not in the squad either, start berahino or Diouf over crouch and that's a great team Odd not to see Indi in the 18. Suppose he thinks Cameron can drop back if there's a problem there. Even so, I'd like him on the bench. Wimmer must be thinking this is getting into nightmare territory already

True to his word.
He said we were better on Wednesday when Crouch came on and he has been praising Johnson in training.
I think he will try a number of different combinations before he settles on his first XI. He has rewarded the defence after a second clean sheet.
We need some accurate centres onto Crouch's head, for Allen and Ndiaye to feed off.

I can't understand Crouch starting. Johnson on the bench is also strange indeed.

It's fairly obvious what the thought process is purely based on his comments about badou's qualities.
We'll launch up it to the lamppost and hope that badou picks up the loose ball in dangerous positions.

Peter has proved us wrong on a fair few occasions so here's hoping it'll be another case of that today.
If it isn't working we can go with Ramadan, Choupo and Shaq (in whatever order) behind Diouf so we do have the option to change it for more pace on the ground...

Crouch can be more effective if we can get players near him for knock downs or decent crosses in from out wide rather than deep. Maybe the energy and tempo from Ndiaye will allow this to happen.....come on Stoke.

I actually think that with Crouch starting we will play on the front foot and not on the counter. This has to be a positive move .We always play better when pressing so I do feel positive about today.

In a strange most-unlike-me way ::)having decided that the stars are aligning for our relegation, I feel that we may win today. Wouldn't it be fantastic if our new boy turned out to be a bright star who almost singlehandedly turns our season around and saves us? We need to lose the fear and just go for it. I understand how difficult that must be but maybe the new additions will play with less trepidation? Either that or Asmir'll have a blinder and stuff us completely.

Bournemouth have conceded 9 headed goals so far this season so Crouch makes sense to me.

Rooster (I think it was) on Radio Stoke said they were resting some tired legs - Mama (I still always think Sidibe), Adam and Fletcher included.
