Is nobody going to ask or is it honeymoon period for Lambert?
5 for me He picked the same team which wasn't difficult. Poor use of subs...only the much tried Plan B of hoofing it to Crouchie. The team are busting a gut but there is little finesse in our build up and nowt up front. He has to get the best out of Shaq who is wasted out wide and is our main creator and match winner. Shaq seemed pretty pissed off last night and we need him on his A game. Lambert gets a point for his non stop waving of arms and dancing up and down on the touchline so no doubt many will love his 'passion' but does it inspire players on the pitch? No sign yet of the fabled 'New Manager Bounce' yet....unless of course it means his pitch side gyrations

I fail to see what he can do tbh. Other than get them trying which he has done.
This new signing will determine if the fans love him or hate him, if he's shit then the fans will turn quickly.
Discipline and effort far better than what they were so 6. Now he needs to find a striker and solidify the midfield.
Have to feel sorry for the bloke as he's inherited a mess from top to bottom and got limited backing from the owners.

The gameplan was fine, we just didn't execute. I take off 3 points for still using Fletcher and Crouch. Imo Fletcher should never see the pitch again and Crouch should only play late in games to defend set pieces.
If someone can tell me the positives of having Fletcher out there I'll gladly listen, but I don't see one single thing he does well.

8 for the clean sheet -7 for picking Fletcher =1
Harsh, but fair...

Another clean sheet with a much improved defence. As long as he wants three in midfield, he's stuck with fletcher because of the unbalanced squad he inherited. (Until Badou, of course) I tend to think the players were trying too hard last night. Let's give Lambert the rest of the season before we judge him. 7*

He’s getting a lot more out of the players than Hughes but that wasn’t really going to be difficult. We look a lot more solid, Butland hasn’t had a meaningful save to make in the last two games.
He needs to find a place in the middle for Shaqiri and bring in Cameron and Badu for Fletcher and Adam. Both should have been taken off at half time last night.
As poor as we were last night Choupo and Shaqiri both had chances they should have buried. It’s encouraging that even when we play poorly it looks as though we’ll be hard to beat.

6*
No reason to change the side and tried to win the game but we looked depressingly similar to the Hughes side minus the clean sheet.
Disappointed Ireland wasn't on the bench we need his intelligence.
They did everything possible to wreck the game .
Now we will see what.he is made of away from home .

7 He's seen enough now to know that Fletcher and Adam cannot be in same team. Energy will be provided by our new signing. Predicted both matches correct so far... We will sneak a boring, hard fought victory Saturday 1-0. Vitally important we didn't lose last night. Gòaaarrrnnn Paul.

Only 5 for me. Last night was crying out for a cool head and a calming influence and I'm not convinced he has that in his locker.
I'm concerned that this up and at 'em approach is coming at the expense of technique and confidence in possession.
The football was dire against Huddersfield for the first half especially and even worse for the whole 90 minutes last night.
But we've picked up 4 points. Funny old game!

If we can keep the defence tight again then we've always got a chance.

Sorted the defence. Not much else he can do up top other than pray. Hopefully he’s aware of midfield problems and Ndiaye can be the answer
A solid 7 #

6* Did fine but I'm not sure how Fletcher plays football professionally at the minute. They matched us up man for man and we didn't have the quality to get through.
Needed to keep Charlie on when crouch came on. We lost all quality crossing apart from Shaq, and he didn't have enough quality around him to get the ball in space.

7. He's still learning the strengths and weaknesses of the players. I thought the subs were OK but there was a good case for bringing on Cameron for Fletcher in the second half. I'd certainly start Cameron in place of Fletcher and Withnail for Adam on Saturday.
Easy to get depressed with last night but Watford set out for a draw from the start and destroyed the game. A draw was disappointing but a few weeks ago that would have been a defeat so another clean sheet is progress.

5 If youre going to bring Crouch on youve got to supply crosses. Shaqs delivery last night was shit . Sobhi sitting on the bench was a waste.

6 A Mark Hughes team may well have lost that game last night, but under Lambert there is, at least, the effort and energy...now we need that to be balanced with a bit more control and finesse
Fletcher had a "mare" last night and needed replacing, and having him and Adam in the same 11, against a pressing team, just didn't work. We were crying out for Cameron's energy and/or Ireland's ability to move the ball quickly, or both.
Hopefully our new guy is an upgrade on G Cam and will provide that oomph in the middle of the park which allows other to play their game. Getting Shaq higher up the pitch is a MUST, and when we did it lead to our best chances. Giving him the ball on halfway with 2/3 defenders around him is pointless
Still, 2 clean sheets and 4 points...not sure we would have managed that with MH still in charge...onwards and upwards!

6* from me picked a side that delivered a much needed win v Huddersfield which was the correct decision, we just didn't have the answer to Watfords vile tactics of taking an age to restart every time they had a throw in free kick, goal kick, they rolled on the floor holding their heads even when there was no contact or clutching their legs as though they'd had a career threatening injury, I've never seen a worse team at Stoke it was far worse than anything Pulis ever dished out home or away, saying that we had 2 good chances in the first half - Diouf's header and Cheapo's shot, then a golden chance in the second half when Shaq hit the ball straight at their keeper and Crouch missed the follow up. We should have won and the defence looked solid, fletcher looked a liability and Adam was ineffective once he picked up his booking which brings me onto John Moss, what a fucking twat, he could see what Watford were doing and not once did he speak to any of them about their time wasting, diving, cheating tactics, he stopped the game for no reason gave fouls for both teams when no one else could see anything wrong. Back to Lambert, he tried his plan B with Crouch and in fairness he didn't bring a forward off to be replaced by a forward, I would have preferred to have seen Sobhi come on instead of Saido and shift either Cheapo or Shaq go central 10 minutes sooner than the Diouf sub. We didn't lose though and didn't really look like we would, I can see some progress and Ndiye must start on Saturday instead of Fletcher or Adam. Gouranga.

Squeaky bums will be the order of the day. Let's hope that MrMcLambert (aka Super Pauly) can keep the ship steady, calm nerves and gird their loins. Gooaaaarrŕrrnnnn Paul.

7. Didn’t need to change a winning team. Defensively we look solid and went 442 to try and win the game. Could of used the other two subs earlier, maybe brought Sobhi on tried to stretch them more

Let’s not kid ourselves , he set up to u tempo a younger, stronger more athletic team and failed miserably , the adrenaline surge of game 1 had passed and the opposition much better physically equipped to manage our approach .
subs crouch and a body out of midfield , had no forward impact but cruelly exposed fletcher , a lesson he could have learned by watching previous games .
As we now know he is by his own words not dealing with transfers but his game management and approach was 3 /4 but that’s what you would Expect with recruitment criteria determined by most desperate , and.cheapest .
