A very honest bloke who goes under the radar. 10 for me given the bag of broken biscuits he inherited *

We haven’t appointed a manager that unites the fans this much since Lou Macari. 10 from me.

8 The first half was absolutely awful as bad as I have seen for some time. Still good start against easily the worse team seen at the BET this season. Ideal opponents for a first home game. Extra point for picking, the much maligned on here, walking red card' Charlie Adam. Some classic Charlie passes. We've played far, far worse than in the first half. West Brom and Swansea were a lot worse than Huddersfield. They were solid, just had nothing up front.

Extra point for picking, the much maligned on here, walking red card' Charlie Adam. Some classic Charlie passes. I think we made Huddersfield look that bad. We didn't give them any time on the ball, didn't let them play it from the back. Under Hughes we'd have sat off them, let them play it from the back, given their players the chance to pick a pass and time for their players to get forward. Instead we hurried them with every kick, made them play it long so they could try hold it up and bring in support, but played right into our hands as Shawcross and Zouma were winning nearly every header. Gotta give praise to Lambert and the team for that. 10

10/10 .... not necessarily a measure of PL as a long term manager, but to prepare a team low on confidence in 4 days and send them out to win is a genuinely great achievement.... played to the individual strengths and positions of his players and led from the front throughout..... Did anyone else see Peter Coates car leave at half-time??

10 from me. Given what he's inherited, he couldn't have done more than what he did. Whether it continues is debatable but yesterday he changed a bunch of dispirited players into a bunch of terriers. I thought they'd all be knackered by half time, but I was wrong. They still played with the same tempo (if not more) second half. Well done PL!
OS.

10.
The players all seemed to understand their jobs and he seemed to understand the importance of getting everybody, including the fans onside.( their manager acknowledged the crowd's impact "their supporters were really on it)
Great to see him hugging all the players at the end and getting all of them to recognise the crowd.
For me seeing Shaq so fired up showed how much the players needed a change.
We must all stay together. Hard work, passion and belief will get us out of this mess.

Yesterday was the season saver. So, a 10 from me but I only saw bits and bobs on the telebox.

How important is a first goal? It was tense but then a slice of luck went our way (it should have been cleared by their defender) but you could say we were due for some.
But Lambert was immense yesterday. A real presence and not taking anything from the best parts of the Hughes era, it felt like the Stoke City of old. We fought, we scrapped, we didn't give up.
Team selection was very good, substitutions were good, a clean sheet and a vital win.
When he said in an interview that he never expected to get another opportunity like this I thought he may have some hunger. Only one game in, but it was the start we needed.
So yeah, 10 out of 10. What a benchmark.

10/10.
Clean sheet, two goals scored, chances created, actively looking to win the game, pressing the opposition, playing to our strengths, unbelievable passion from the sideline, meaningful substitutions.
A great start.

10*
To have won over doubters (including me) so quickly. To have fielded a team of players in positions they are familiar with. To have played a formation that made sense and worked. To have used all substitutes in a tactically competent manner. To have motivated the players in such a way that I cannot name one that did not play well. To have demonstrated beyond doubt that he wants to be here. To be so aware of the importance of the fan base, in particular shepherding as well as joining the players to applaud the fans at the end of the game. To stand on the touchline and clearly live every kick of the ball and show great emotion when we scored. To have already instilled confidence (in me at least) that with circa 10 days left of the transfer window, maybe we can further strengthen the side and that any acquisition won't be a turkey!
God how I've missed all these qualities.
Paul Lambert still has a lot of work to do but this has been one hell of a start. It won't always be a bed of roses but he has changed my misery from only a week ago into one of great optimism.
I can't wait for the next game with Watford. Unleash the Bear Pit!!!!
Oh, and fuck off Paddy Power.

It's got to be a 10 from me. A win and a clean sheet on his debut. We should look even better when all of the team has increased levels of fitness, so I'll look forward to giving him another 10 after Watford.

What a benchmark. You could say that it was a slice of luck, but something we did that hardly ever happened under Hughes is that we built consistent pressure. Eventually, the pressure will tell. The vast majority of the first half was played in Huddersfield's half and, even though we didn't actually create many chances, I felt that it was only a matter of time.
