8 The first half was absolutely awful as bad as I have seen for some time. Still good start against easily the worse team seen at the BET this season. Ideal opponents for a first home game. Extra point for picking, the much maligned on here, walking red card' Charlie Adam. Some classic Charlie passes.

Crowd back on side Hope, energy and enthusiasm Clean sheet Back to basics Pace on the counter
10 days together now let's really see them get together for Watford. Two new faces at CM and another pacy forward and we are all good.

To have come straight into the hotseat with only a few days notice, take our mismanaged and disjointed players, turn them into a team that can pull off a 2-0 win, straight off the bat, no messing, and passion in spades to boot......
It can only be a 10.
For a manager, that was as an impressive a first week's work as I've seen in football.

10. The pressure was on. We scored two good goals and kept a clean sheet. Also thought the use of subs was correct. Keep it up lads

10/10. At last we have a manager that realizes that we are allowed to play football in the opposition's half of the field.

9. Even in the first half you could tell that we looked much more organised in the defence and you could tell we'd actually done some drills and positional work on the training ground. Say what you want about Marc Wilson as a player but his parting shot about us doing no defensive work on the training ground has certainly proved accurate. We definitely neglected it under Hughes. Second half we managed to add some creativity and cutting edge to our play and deservedly got two goals. Finally we closed the game out sensibly and professionally with no needless sitting back and panicking and we even threatened to add a third. Excellent start and brought some enjoyment back to watching Stoke.
He only misses out on a 10 due to the fact that I have a suspicion that Huddersfield were also really crap and may have assisted our much improved defensive display. Time will tell whether today's improvement was down to things that Lambert is doing differently or simply Huddersfield being crap.

Couldn't ask for more from him in his first game. Good team selection, constantly involved from the touchline, motivating, instructing, celebrating and wearing the tracky

Not sure on people saying the first half was one of the worst they've seen. The commitment from the players was obvious, just took a half to really click

Given the situation he walked into less than a week ago, it's difficult to see what he has done wrong so far. So if has to be 10*

Dropped swimmer completely. - An absolute tosser of the highest order. Dropped Berahino - too much baggage and the saying couldn't score in a brothel isn't true - so couldn't score in 2 years playing football Dropped Tymon - Simply not good enough
And he's realised this in 4 short days.
Started with Diouf up top and not right back
4 at the back (not 3 or 5) And we got the win.

Would have settled for a scrappy 1-0 today , what we got was far more than we had imagined both in terms of play and attitude.

10* did everything right
He's been very savvy - he knew the fans demanded more passion from the team and what the critisms of the team and Hughes had been.... and he obviously had them fired up behind the scenes and on the pitch. But he effectively led by example by his display on the touchline, his interaction with the crowd and telling the players to go to the crowd at the end.
He's won a lot of people over in the way he's handled the media this week before the game, and probably won more people over with the result today, solid performance, increased determination from the side and the way he has handled himself today. I mean, he could of easily cut a quiet and subdued figure on the touchline but that's not what the fans and situation demanded. I never expected him (from what I've previously seen of the man) to be so animated. Very astute management.

An excellent home debut with a clean sheet and a convincing win. I just can't see how Fletcher contributes to the team, but otherwise spot on.

11 - got us looking organised at the back, compact through the middle and playing to our strengths (we have players who are naturally quite direct). Looked nervy first half, but came out 2nd half swinging and, in the end, thoroughly deserved the win.
Bonus point for his passion, which makes a nice change from Sparky's dour beigeness.

Extra point for picking, the much maligned on here, walking red card' Charlie Adam. Some classic Charlie passes. You are harsh. Yes the first half was poor, but change in system, rusty (Adam), changed positions, and new players, nerves, etc. But he encouraged all through the first half despite the errors, put things right in the second half, made good substitutions, kept the team going forward after we went into the lead, etc. there was so much good about yesterday I am still pinching myself.
