His blatant bias towards his mate is embarrassing now.
Everything going on results, playing style, length at stoke meant he had to go. Any other manager savage would be agreeing

Does he not understand what his job is as a pundit? It's to give a critical view of the situation. Presumably he's not going to criticise a striker for missing an open goal because he's not played at the top level as a striker? Or criticise a keeper for throwing the ball in the net? His bias towards Hughes is worse than his hair.

Didn’t know Jeremy Kyle presents that show #doppleganger Yea Savage is so far up Hughes arse it’s embarrassing. And Harrison moaning about someone going abroad to increase their tactical nous. The pair of them should maybe jump to the rescue of all the other sacked premier league managers from this season.

There is no doubt that Robbie Savage holds Hughes in high regard but he's been fairly consistent in his defence of managers in the 606 show. He defended Pulis, Clement and Koeman with the same vigour in which he defended Hughes in fairness to him and he always maintained that whilst he thought Hughes should stay in his job, he could understand why supporters would be getting tetchy and would "get" why the Stoke City board may choose to dispense with his services. Personally, I don't mind Savage as a pundit and 606 is usually a good listen as I make my way home from the games.

Sutton on the other is considered and intelligent but according to the other brainless dick Hartson,God forbid anyone who tries to improve or develop themselves....i honestly give up with the quality of punditry on the box.

At one point I thought Hartson was going to stick up for Lambert saying he has gone out to different countries to see how they train, add more tools to his armour, better himself , then he ended up slagging him off the prick. There is a reason they aren’t managers and they are sat in a studio and that is because they themselves know fuck all. And the presenter said did you think they would go for someone younger? Yeah because Lambert is getting on, he isn’t even fucking 50 yet. BT sport truely are wank stains!

I find his loyalty to MH admirable, however,as a fan of Hughes even I could see it was the end game for him,I hoped he'd turn it around, but he was bankrupt of the ideas or tactics to do it. I liked the man,but ultimately he had to go.

Talking of poor punditry, I had to smile yesterday when on Talk Sport our old friend Joey Barton talking to Charlie Adam;
That guy at right back Boor or something looks good, why has not been playing more often ?
He only arrived last week Joey 😃❗️

Savage has been consistent in defending managers facing the sack. But I've never seen him attacking an incoming manager before. This has got to be something personal. Totally unprofessional from Savage, but that's not a surprise.
I liked Hughes, but he's definitely in that group of failures now. Will Savage say the same about him when he gets his next job. He's Welsh, so we know the answer to that. Ditto Hartson and Saunders.

I've never been anything but really impressed with him to be honest.

Savage is often in the Pro Manager camp and seems to be anti sacking. The best thing about Savage, when he is doing a radio call in show is that he will allow himself to be slated and he will respond with his view. He doesn't just cut the caller off. He's a twat who plays the 'have you been a professional footballer?' card when someone catches him out.

Nello hasn't yet forgiven him for ( allegedly) running Nello out in a cricket match many years ago, when Robbie was a young player on Crewe's books. I was also on set when Robbie was in a scene filmed as part of "Marvellous". His scene didn't make the final cut, and when we attended the first private showing of the film, the production team were joking among themselves about who was drawing the short straw to tell Robbie that he had ended up on the cutting room floor. But 606 won the award for the best football radio show at the FSF Annual Awards last month - voted by fans on-line. I didn't vote for it myself, but, obviously, Robbie's style goes down well with a lot our members. He is what he's paid to be and the broadcasters and a lot of listeners want him to be - an opinionated pundit. There is always the "off" button for those who don't like it.

Whether I like them or not I can take my hat off to former sportsmen and women who have genuinely made the transition to sports broadcasting. People who can actually anchor a show - likes of Lineker, Sue Barker, David Gower or to a lesser extent Matt Dawson or David Flatman. 'Pundits' on the other hand - like Savage - who have to be chaperoned every minute they are on air - with a couple of honourable exceptions - by and large add little more insight or engage in any more informed debate than you would get by employing the average fan.

To be fair I don't blame him for doing it, he reels people in like that numpty from BPTV who calls up.
That's the only reason he does it, that and the fact he's shagging Leslie! Although when he's on 606 he should be impartial right? BBC and all?

His rants against Stoke fans who wanted Hughes out were pathetic.
His mentality, like many other pundits, is that we shouldn't look any further than a low level, ever. We should be grateful for what we've had because we're only Stoke. We should stop being ambitious and wanting better.
That post against Lambert, a fellow professional, is so disrespectful that I hope he gets run over. Savage gets run over, I mean. Not Lambert.

I am astonished how often they are ignorant of the laws of the game, the guidance on how those laws should be interpreted and other matters they should be informed on just to do the job properly. As a member of the FA judicial panel I get trained on these each season, and clubs get written guidance and visits from officials to explain it, so it really shouldn't be difficult for the broadcasters to require their pundits to do the same. To take just two examples of pundit ignorance this season - the changed rules on red cards for DOGSOs ( denial of goal scoring opportunity) in the penalty area, and the rules on the use of VAR.
