It's no wonder Hughes hardly played him. You can blame Hughes if you like but the player has a responibility as a professional to keep his fitness at a certain standard. To paraphrase an old saying - You can lead a donkey to training but you can't make him put the effort in! Spoiled overpaid overrated lazy twats. I'd have taken a fucking birch to the cunt.

It's no use giving Berahino games if he is not fit. He wasn't fit when he came to Stoke and he isn't now. His own agent confirms this: www.balls.ie/football/tim-sherwood-saido-berahino-380758Berahino has no one but himself to blame for his lack of fitness. Stoke must have a superb set up to get and keep players fit and he doesn't take advantage of this. No one else is to blame. Wow, that alone should be grounds for dismissal under breach of contract, morally if not actually (& feel free to shoot me down HR pros & employment briefs out there).
That is a disgrace.
Fook knows what we can do with him, albeit, I do like RAF 's quite excellent suggestion.

I just don't get how fitness works at all at Stoke City.
If I run 100m in lets say 11.5 week in week out and weigh 14 stone and then my stats which are EVERYWHERE on the net show that I have dropped to 12.5 and now weigh 15 stone how can I be passed fit.
Granted once fit a player needs to play to get match sharpness and fit into the system again but that basic fitness level must be in place first surely.
I think the time has come to say Berahinooo and put him out on loan.

Hi realstokebloke
I made to point earlier about his contractual situation earlier.
OK they have wasted £12 million plus on him and are now paying him a reputed £3 million a year until 2023. There should be (I hope) something in his contract about his behaviour and fitness. Might be better to let him walk than have him hanging around for another five years with the attitude that he seems to have. Not only will this save £15 million, but his continued presence as a 'passenger' will affect the other players. he is already too much of a talking point for all the wrong reasons.
I wish Brian Clough were manager!

So far he's been an abysmal failure. However, I sense some of us are taking pleasure from Berahino's ongoing form lack. Some have been cynical about buying him all along and it could be them getting too much satisfaction from being proven 'right '. As much as any Stoke player ever it would be fantastic if he could come good to ram the words of the self serving I told you soers right down their supercilious throats. With Berahino's accuracy on target that would be 'down their supercilious ears', then.

Berahino is a disgrace of a person and one we are stuck with util 2021.
Apart from his rubbish performances on the pitch he typifies everything that is wrong with modern footballers
Too much money too young, sense of entitlement, wasting a promising career, complaining about anyone and everyone but himself.
It looked like he was mistreated at West Brom at the time and I was genuinely on his side. Now he's been here for one year, cant get himself fit, complaining to the board about not playing, taking a penalty that should never have been his, and now not knowing on which day the first-team is playing.
Even if he suddenly discovers some form and scores 15 goals a season for us (never gonna happen), I will never like the guy and would want him out of my beloved club.
I could forgive the poor performances if he looked like he gave a shit on the pitch but hes the most bone-idle striker ive ever seen. Add in his off-field idiocy and hes just a very dislikable person picking up 20 Million from Stoke

I've just had a thought. If Beraniho needs games to get fit then stick him in every reserve and junior game that was played.
That might incentivize him a bit.

Of course it’s Berahinos responsibility to get and stay fit , but hasnt someone on the managerial team thought about doing something about it . It’s negligence, he cost us 12 million and we are allowing him to get away with it

How do we get another manager so pissed up to enable this to be a vague possibility?

Hopefully Lambert May sought him out.
As said earlier I would have him playing in the under23s having been told why and what he needs to do.

Based on what I've read about Lambert, if you're not pulling your weight - you'll be cast out the way of the rest of the squad to make sure it doesn't spread through the squad. Can't believe we chased Berahino for 18 months, TP knew he was selling us a fucking virus - the wanker.

The Sun story is a bit of a meaningless red herring - but surely we'll be moving heaven and earth to get him out on loan in the next 10 days.
As it stands, we've got 4 and a half years of £70,000-a-week to look forward to.
The question is: would any team in the Championship even be willing to make a worthwhile wage contribution for him?
If not, where could he go?

Heard a story of him not turning into training in the last couple of weeks and has got a couldn't give a shit attitude. He's starting to look more and more of a disaster signing. It's 12m and 70k a week down the swanny.

£70k a week for someone who hadn’t scored for a year before we signed him?
Scholes should lose his job for that alone.
