He doesn't fit anywhere in Lambert's 433, he also isn't very good at pressing so pointless him coming here and not being involved, may as well carry on with Alaves paying his 60k a week wages until the summer.

His goal per game ratio improved after his injury, and his assist per game ratio was never anything to write him about anyway.

I can’t believe that anyone would call Bojan a crap footballer. Before his injury he was the driving force behind our famous victories against Man U, Man C, Tottenham and Arsenal. At times he reminded me of Alan Hudson. After his injury he didn’t have the same level of confidence and Hughes didn’t persist with him - a mistake in my view! I would have built the team around him!

Interesting how we come to conclusions of why a player is amazing and then crap. When I was young we signed a free transfer from Nottingham Forest. I was not expecting much but he was amazing for one season. After that he drifted away like many other!

Given our existing striker options I think it was a big mistake not to recall him.

I've said it before but he's the "coolest" most natural goal scorer we have and we need him. And those that say hes wank are nuts he is pure class, however he does lack defensively but it's a trade off.

He may be pure class but why do you think he can't get games in average teams such as Mainz or Alvares?

That's what I would so with him 👍

Given our existing striker options I think it was a big mistake not to recall him. I agree. Bojan was the best finisher on the books at the time, before his injury after which he lost a step. Hughes signed him with the understanding that he would play in his preferred position as a striker, which one of the main reasons Bojan came to Stoke. For some mysterious reason Hughes renegaded on the deal and rarely played him in that position. But that was the story of Hughes’s tenure at Stoke. He rarely persisted with players in their best position; consequently the team was amost almost full of square pegs in round holes. He rarely gave players a long enough run and often played them out of position. Pieters and Diouf as wingbacks was clearly never going to work yet he persisted with that for more than two years. He was a very strange man - aloof, and out of touch with the players and the fans. How he kept his job that long is a mystery. Anyway, onwards and upwards. I’ll be there on Saturday and usually bring them luck. I have only seen them lose once at home and never in the league!

His ruptured ACL finished him as a world-class player. We all need to accept reality and move on. It’s a crying shame, but there it is.

9 pages on a player who's not playing at Alaves - what have we become?
Since the turn of the year, he's not even been in their squad in 6 of their 9 games - has he been injured or something?

They're trying to get rid for financial reasons. As far as i'm aware they're also crap and doing the classic 'back to basics' routine that every club in a relegation scrap tries to do.

If he had gone to Alaves and absolutely smashed it do we really think he'd currently be out of the team for financial reasons?
He struggled from the start there.

Alaves style of play:Take long shots Long Balls, Aggressive, playing in their own half Strengths: Protecting the lead Weaknesses: very weak at keeping possession of the ball. Not so much an excuse but does give a little bit of context.
