If he had gone to Alaves and absolutely smashed it do we really think he'd currently be out of the team for financial reasons? He struggled from the start there. Alaves style of play:Take long shots Long Balls, Aggressive, playing in their own half Strengths: Protecting the lead Weaknesses: very weak at keeping possession of the ball. Not so much an excuse but does give a little bit of context. So why did he go there? Just like he went to Mainz when they were renowned as a pressing team, which doesn't really suit his style at all? Has he got a shit agent? Again, at some point, one of the players not playing deified as the answer on here has to have some sort of responsibility attributed to them for them not playing. It's always, always, always somebody's else's fault.

Oh no doubt, he hasn't, however, started more than 2 games in a row for any team since April 2016. Difficult to build any form or performance level in that sort of sporadic playtime. And, again, teams in relegation fights tend to stick more to players who just run a lot, for the most part, and abandon any attempt to play good football.

I’m sorry Bojan would not make any significant sustainable improvement to our squad whilst in the Premiership, nor I doubt in the Championship if we were to be relegated
Check out his career to-date. He has become a journeyman at a relatively young age for a player with his early potential
Sad to say!!!

Or he should have made the most of the opportunities he had, limited or otherwise. Stephen Ireland isn't fit to lace Bojan's boots on a normal day but when he's had limited chances he's looked like he could offer us something. Bojan against Everton and Rochdale didn't, and more often than not he didn't last season, even if (like Ireland), he was unlucky to be dropped on the rare occasions he did.

He definitely shouldn't have been loaned out in january, especially with us being so abysmal creatively for the rest of that season.

Squad numbers can, of course, be changed. Unfortunately, it appears the downward spiral of the potentially great football career of Bojan Krkic cannot.

Didn't stand out but he made a few good key passes and looked decent to me. Thought he was decent against City at home, the only threat we had. Had a good cameo away at Chelsea too. Honestly thought, even if he hadn't had a good game since his injury (which he most definitely has) I'd still want him back because we have absolutely nothing else in that role, and we're so shite creatively. The 433 didn't work when we used it second half of last season, and we've then downgraded from Arnie to Choupo. All of our pressing game and all of our creative threat from the middle is hanging on Badou. Whatever you think of Bojan, it was literally a no risk endeavour to bring him back. We lose nothing by bringing him back at all. Having a number 10 and playing a 4231 would bring out the best in Shaq, Choupo and the striker in my opinion. The issue being that Badou and Allen can't both play as defensive midfielders. Yet again we've ignored what's wrong with the team (defensive mid, number 10).

I agree there was probably nothing to lose by bringing him back. This idea he'd be anything other than a long shot throw of the dice and would be this special, saviour making an emotional return is far fetched and based on precious little though, especially given that he doesn't suit how Lambert supposedly wants to play.

Sort of, i think it had a decent chance of working. One thing we haven't had since he stopped playing games is any sort of runners from midfield into attacking positions with any quality. Bojan used to attack beyond the striker and give people like Shaq a pass to make through the defence. We very much miss that.

The evidence it wouldn't have made a jot of difference is greater than the evidence it would. Bojan did that when he was playing well. The Bojan we saw against Bournemouth, Wolves, Palace and Boro, Rochdale and Everton wasn't doing that.

9 pages on a player who's not playing at Alaves - what have we become? Since the turn of the year, he's not even been in their squad in 6 of their 9 games - has he been injured or something? Unfortunately we've become desperately in need of striker options. Something that shouldn't have been the case given a transfer window has only just closed.

How fans of a club who's strikers could not hit a barn door can write off Bojan is beyond me. I’m sorry but IMHO Bojan is not capable of making a significant nor sustainable improvement to our current or future ( wherever that may be). He should now be in the prime of his career as a professional. Instead (if you believe Wiki) he hasn’t reached the potential shown in his early years He is becoming a journeyman around Europe, sad but as of today it’s true

And those that say a player who cannot get a game in a poor Spanish team is the classiest natural goal scorer are nuts. The reality is he is neither crap nor class. And yet he's still the best finisher at the club 🤔 Errr.... If you cant get in the team, how many goals are you going to score?

With the window now clearly shut I don't see the point him coming back because we can't play him. It could give Lambert time to check out his skills for next season and he could be a positive influence around the young kids but in all honesty it would be a big wage to pay just for that.
Stay where you are lad and get ready for the championship next year!

Errr.... If you cant get in the team, how many goals are you going to score? More than the ones playing at the moment 😉 Can you even hear how stupid that sounds? "How many goals can a player score if he's not playing?" (answer = zero) "More than the ones playing at the moment." (They have scored 26 Prem goals between them) C'mon, I wish Imbula, Bojan, Jesse, et al had made it at Stoke. They haven't. But to make stupid claims like this just underline the hopelessly biased view some have of our failed purchases.
