I think that roughly translates to "I've been given enough money not to discuss REASONS. So it's goodnight from me and goodnight from him, we'll soon find another club". I think thats spot on mate. at the end of the day he did his best had great success but kind of lost the plot (maybe for reasons we aren't fully aware of).

What on earth are you talking about? Read what I say, I said he had to go, i was at all of those games and were terrible but before making silly atatements read what is before you. I pay my money, i can say what i like. I thought that Hughes should go, so i did join in, in the Hughes out shouts with many more that did. Having money entitled you to a voice. And surrounded by a bunch of boo boys you decided to boo. Well done you. You really are the gift that no-ones wants.

Once you've lost the fans there's no going back. That's true but I believe in getting behind the team at games and venting anger elsewhere. Thats what happened for the most part the game was over then the anger came, i think the fans held back quite a bit tbh.

I would like to accept that and say fair enough, but you can bet in his pay off it says do not mention anything negative about the club. Where as i would prefer him to come out and say scholes is a tosser And vice versa.

I wish him nothing and those Stoke fans waving him off thanking him for his contribution, get a grip. The statement was intended for one thing only and that was to show how professional he is to make him attractive to potential suitors. The man had effectively ruined some of the best footballers we have seen as a club and he hanged his hat on Charlie Adams & Peter Crouch (no offence). I would go as far as to say as a manager he was a disgrace. I have nothing but contempt for the man as a football manager. I wrote 9 months ago and talked about the whole apathy of the club. I was battered verbally for my views and confined to the naughty corner. Hughes always lowered expectations even though he kept saying he had increased it. Stoke fans took the bait and swallowed the apathy We are at a low point at th club the only way is up. You were right then (not the only one) and you are dead right now. He has brought our team to the brink of abyss and all he is trying to do is rescue his reputation.

That man managed to get the team running in a style that hasn't been seen for nearly forty years! Are we in the shit now? Not at all. If I am wrong PM me when we are relagated.

I really can’t imagine what it must be like to be so blissfully ignorant of Stoke’s history as to think that the only way from our current position is up. It’s quite enviable in a way.

Reading between the lines. He doesnt THANK the fans does he, just Coates and the Board. A definite touch of bitterness towards us there Well maybe if the fans had got behind him and the team like they got behind pulls in the first couple of seasons in the premier league then he would have grounds to thank them , oh and maybe we wouldn’t be in the position we are, just a thought What a load of shit

It’s hard for me to reminisce about those top 9 finishes because of the awful slump we’ve gotten into but you can’t deny the champagne football we played at times and the best finishes for a lifetime. Good luck sparky but you definitely needed to go.

That’s not true Bos, from their first goal until we equalised and then from the their second goal, with a few anti chants at other times. When one goal down we should be getting behind the team not start being negative.

Thanks for the memories Sparky.
You will admit you made some bad choices, but you were also let down by some of your more talented players and in general at times by the team.
I would say I personally wish you all the best for your managerial future, except at the Bet 365 of course.
Cheers

All in all Hughes is a middle of the road prem manager, he’ll be on the usual merry go round with pardew, big Sam, woy, etc, along with managers from the top three team in the championship every year.

No need to get sarcastic Mr Flaps, was enjoying the debate. The fact is anti chanting has been going on for some time, my view is and was when you and I started this is simply get behind the team for 90 minutes keep the chanting for after the game, keep it for social websites, keep it for “Praise and Grumble”, for the Sentinel, 606 and Talksport Radio. I will never boo my team whatever and as far as the Manager is concerned I trust the board and I take my complaints away from pitchside.

In near enough 13 years we've had 2 managers. Both should of gone a year or so before they did, but the club are loyal which isn't a bad trait to have. All in all we haven't done too bad with the two we've had but Hughes going now gives the new boss time to change things around for us. I hope MH does ok in the future. The home games against Man City and Liverpool a few years ago were standout matches, wish there could of been more.

He had to go and we left it too late but it does seem as if he had a point when he said "who else is going to do it?".
