I would like to accept that and say fair enough, but you can bet in his pay off it says do not mention anything negative about the club. Where as i would prefer him to come out and say scholes is a tosser

He's acted like a gentlemen and I wish all the best and thank him for some of the best football I've seen at stoke early in his tenure.

Reading between the lines. He doesnt THANK the fans does he, just Coates and the Board.
A definite touch of bitterness towards us there

That is how you leave a football club
No hard feelings. All parties knew his time was up and all move on.
Cheers Sparky

Not saying we will ever know.
But it is essential that PC / JC / DC get to the bottom of exactly what went wrong.
Because it did. Very badly.
And I would start with transfers.

Well, its a fairly bland statement typical of the sort you get when there's an 'arranged' sacking. However, I'm prepared to take it as read and wish Mark all the best for the future. Thanks for the three good seasons, but not the last one and a half!

Reading between the lines. He doesnt THANK the fans does he, just Coates and the Board. A definite touch of bitterness towards us there why do you need to read between the lines ,take it has it is , he thanked the loyal fans not the dickheads who slag the club off at every opportunity (that is not directed at you by the way)

Reading between the lines. He doesnt THANK the fans does he, just Coates and the Board. A definite touch of bitterness towards us there Let's face it we've not exactly endeared ourselves to him, there was a van with Hughes out before he even got here. At least he wished us good luck.

Fair play to him..So what if he hasn't thanked the fans? I wouldn't either if I was him!
He thanked the people who deserve thanks and that's right.
This is football, it hasn't ended on bad terms and both parties can move on..ended the way this situation should do.
Good luck Sparky

Wow, Hughes has a decent record and he knows our club and the players, I'll be surprised if we're not speaking with him about the current vacancy.

Nevertheless, the family needs to have a no holds barred post mortem, otherwise it could all happen all over again.
And btw, while the chances of us ever knowing are obviously hampered by all the ITK dick waving nonsense going on as usual, it's exactly what makes the Oatie tick.

He still thinks he is a victim of his own ‘success’ doesn’t he! Strange things are the old ‘expectations’. TP was slaughtered for trying to manage them, MH thinks he raised them too far. I don’t think anyone in football thinks fans outside of the top 6 really have right to look for any enjoyment in the game. More and more I feel the only way forward is to get involved with local non-League football where it’s more of community thing and pleasure can be got from the basic spirit of everyone working together.

I think that roughly translates to "I've been given enough money not to discuss REASONS. So it's goodnight from me and goodnight from him, we'll soon find another club".

Now the dust has settled and it's all over. I can say thanks for your effort Mark, as some have mentioned some great moments were had under his tenure - days I'll never forget. Things go stale, as in all aspects of life. All the best in the future(unless it's against Stoke )

Though this is a pretty standard type of statement a lot of managers could learn a lot from Sparky's sheer decency, class and grace. I will certainly miss that.
Sparky, I'll never forget you for the incredible highs (and I really do mean incredible) and the agonizing lows (and I really do mean agonizing) of the last 5 seasons.
Good luck.

Regardless of any conspiracy theories on why he wrote it or who advised him. It's a good honest way to part. I hate all the anomosity, the banners and the ugly vibe. Some people find it funny and thrilling but not me. Good luck to him. A good 2-3 year manager.

Nice one Mark.
All the best for the future but your time here was up and I backed him all the way.
Those first 2 / 3 seasons was some unbelievable football which I’d thought I’d never see stoke city play so thank you for that.
Now Come On Stoke
