Billic likes motivated / inspiring music. Are our players likely to respond to Fucik " Entrance of the gladiators? " Good enough CV. Up to the Board. Wimmer doesn't listen to music.

Just remember guys, keep the faith, odds mean nothing, right? Some jobs have had double figures amount of people to go odds on. Nothing is certain. Something has happened though, it looks like Sky Bet are the ones who have taken some decent bets (possibly lots of ST postcode ones) and the rest have shortened as a precaution. At the very least someone thinks they know something and have bet accordingly.

Read it and weep... www.theguardian.com/football/2017/nov/06/west-ham-sack-slaven-bilic-comment-david-moyesIntensity in training dipped, Payet returned to Marseille and speculation over Bilic’s future mounted. Scrappy wins kept saving him but the football was lethargic and disorganised. Opponents loved playing against West Ham His football lacked identity and style and he was too reliant on Manuel Lanzini’s invention. There was too much focus on motivation and not enough on tactics. A player who left in the summer was perplexed by Bilic’s speeches about playing with passion. Where, he wondered, was the level of detail he had experienced at his former club? Another defensive player was baffled by the way he was left exposed by the team’s shape out of possession. Defenders regressed and there is a belief within the squad that they are unfit. There have been too many soft tissue injuries and Bilic was damned by statistics showing that West Ham have covered the least distance and made the fewest sprints in the Premier League this season There was not enough accountability. Allardyce would make sure mistakes would not be repeated by hammering the culprit in front of the rest of the dressing room but Bilic was afraid of confrontation

When West Ham were at Upton Pk I thought Billic did a decent job, however since they moved to the London Stadium his record was poor. Can’t make my mind up whether he’d be a decent appointment or not🤔Good contacts in the game though after his time with Croatia Yeah because Croatia is a real hotbed of international talent.......... Decent national side with players he’s managed

I said yesterday that odds on various candidates will drift in and out, especially during these early stages. The exact same happened with the Leicester vacancy for example, where both Dyche and Pellegrini were odds-on at some point or another. Giggs and Coleman were both strongly backed as well before Puel's odds started to shorten.
It's interesting to observe for sure, but I just can't see it indicating anything concrete (yet).

Genuinely worrying if the board would consider appointing him. Just so sudden that the odds changed, as you say though, others shorten as a precaution. It's still betting and the less they pay out the better. Hopefully just a flurry of bets of hit and hope.

Would be thoroughly underwhelming and uninspiring - I don't know why we expect anything else Just like when we appointed Hughes when in reality we all wanted somebody like Rafa Would be a lazy predictable appointment - entirely in keeping with the lack of imagination and foresight so regularly exhibited by our club What would you consider and 'imaginative and far-sighted appointment'? How would you then persuade him to take the job? What if the then turned you down. You can be imaginative as much as you like but in the end you can only appoint from among those willing to come.

Surely if we were going for a manager that is already employed it would be in the press about asking for permission to talk. The silence would suggest we are talking to those who are already unemployed.
Or maybe today was about waiting to see who puts themselves forward and sift through them first. That is why Bilic is being mentioned.

If you cast your minds back a couple of months, about 90% of this board were saying what a terrible manager David Moyes was and how he would be an awful appointment. Well he is doing okay so far and who is to say that Bilic couldn't do the same with Stoke. I think we are far too quick to condemn managers based on a previous failure(s). Bilic wouldn't be my first choice either but he would probably fit the club better than some of the names mentioned. At the end of the day whoever we get will probably leave a section of our support underwhelmed but we will just have to support him anyway. Most managers have had a failure at some point in their careers. Sometimes you need to fail at something in order to learn.

Shit I hope it isn’t him it’s just a straight swap for Hughes regarding fitness tactics etc and I’d go as far as to say West Ham have better players than us so this really should smack of blind stupidity
Again the cheap option if it happens!!!

Most managers have had a failure at some point in their careers. Sometimes you need to fail at something in order to learn. That didn’t work for Hughes he’s just repeated exactly the same scenario he did at QPR and I’m betting Moyes and Bilic will eventually keep doing the same. This appointment should be about long term or at least short term with proven experience ie O’Neil. If you are looking progression and long term you need either Rafa, Rodgers or at least Rowett but you have to be prepared to pay decent money to get them and give them decent money to work with
