When has Pej ever been happy, he's got a face like 10 miles of bad road, more chance of Hughes getting it right than this man smiling I take it you've never met him? Really nice bloke, I grant you he used to be a miserable sod but he's mellowed a lot, Now if you can produce a picture of Alan Bloor or Alan Dodd smiling? Actually got Pej to laugh once whilst in Breckles Health Food shop in Leek. Should have taken a picture

When Pej & Smithy speak, they are talking from past experience and seeing their club failing badly. Those who don't like their comments either never saw them play or don't like true comments. Well Iwatched both of them play, and for years. Both rock hard players, and very good players. But if I had to decide between the two, I would say that Smithy was a lot like Pej, but Smithy was the one with brains. Smithy was captain. There was a reason for that.

Clem, you talk of 2 "Rock Hard" players! I seem to remember that defence being made up of 4 "Rock Hard" defenders. Marsh and Bloor certainly played there part. I for one think that Smithy was very fortunate to have had "Bluto" alongside him. I believe that Alan Bloor allowed Smithy to be the player that he was! You only have to read Francis Lee's comments back in the day to appreciate that!
