It's not much fun watching the football at the moment - looking at the managerial alternatives is worse. We appear to be looking at a list that veers from laughably unrealistic fantasy to scarily realistic nightmare. I think Hughes has got until after the Newcastle game - which hopefully gives the club a bit of time to give it a bit of thought - and give someone time to section anyone in a position of authority actually thinking about bringing back Tony Pulis.
If we do make a change I'm going for Thomas Tuchel. Potentially exciting appointment. And German. Can't go wrong with German.

I voted for Pulis. I will not hand my head in shame. How do you hand your head? Head in hands. It goes hand in hand with Pulisball.

Galtier is taking over from Bielsa at Lille - not that you'd think he'd have been on our radar anyway.

Think it could come down to:
Pearson O'Neill Rowett (if he'd come) Bilic Koeman (long shot) Jokanovic Karanka Strachan
?
?

What will Coates likely criteria be ?
- Presumably British (is this true ?) - Out of work so no compensation to current club - Cheap contract - Desperate for a job - Willing to work with no/little transfer budget or sell to buy policy - Premier League experience
The list of likely candidates doesn't exactly set the pulse racing does it ?

It does however fit the "anyone but Hughes" criteria

You've just got to weigh them up against the current malaise, and work out whether you think any non-Hughes fresh voice would get more of a tune? I'm still not 100%, but I'm definitely inclined to give it a whirl because I think we're going down as it is.

It’s got to that point of frying pan, eyes closed and hope you miss the fire

Strachan? Come on FM, surely that’s not realistic. Failed everywhere bar a short part of his time at Coventry.

Bilic and Koeman would have points to prove and hopefully will have learnt things at there last jobs.
Tbh a wheelie bin could get a better tune out of this lot than Hughes, he’s completely lost the support and plot now but it seems the board ain’t got a Fuckin clue what to do next.
Keep him and we go down that’s a certain fact.

Strachan? Come on FM, surely that’s not realistic. Failed everywhere bar a short part of his time at Coventry. He wouldn't be on my shortlist, or anywhere near it. Just trying to include every experienced, British, (Prem-hardened) cheap candidate! Realistically, I can possibly see it coming down to Pearson and Martin O'Neill? Maybe I'm setting the bar low, but just trying to be ultra-realistic I'd like to see us investigate Koeman, Rodgers, Rowett - but it could be we're left with a pretty unappetising bunch. Of that lot, I think I'd go Pearson.

I wouldn’t object to Bilic.
The dildo twins wanted him out from day one, and let’s face it he wouldn’t have that kind of pressure here, even if he twatted Denise and burnt the stadium down on his first day.

I would object to him. His inability to organise defensively or get his side fit is almost identical to Hughes.

Of that lot, I think I'd go Pearson. I think you’re probably right. Koeman would be my choice. Rodgers and Dyche won’t leave their clubs for us. Rowett unproven and not for me. Martin O’Neill would be ok, with Roy Keane as assistant. Or Pearson, if he’ll leave the employ of the Thai owners of Leicester, who also own his Belgian side.

I wouldn’t object to Bilic. He's basically a carbon copy of Hughes. No thanks.
