Honestly has anyone got the heart? He's a good bloke, he's done great things for this football club and he has to be going through hell right now, I don't want to add to the pain - but this surely can't be allowed to continue for another game, can it?

Stoke played with heart & commitment and have been done by an atrocious decision again.
West Ham could then sit back and pick us off.
I genuinely thought today was better than most of our matches this season.
Not sure Hughes could have done anything different today.

Minus infinity. *
Get the fuck out and shut the door behind you.
Totally had enough.
If Coates doesn't act that new corner will have a stoke banner on it cos it will be empty.

Starting 442 again is idiocy and cowardice beyond belief.

0 and thats too much, 4-4-2 hasn't worked in any of the games he's tried it in yet goes for it again and low and behold its crap, he's panicking, throwing as much against the wall as he can, he tries to come across as calm and collected but its clearly showing what he does on a match day that he's desperate, he needed to go months ago, he needs to do us all a favour and walk.

We defended atrociously, we couldn't create anything against a team that gave us the ball for long periods. We let Arnie absolutely take the piss. Let's not hide behind a penalty, that may or may not have been, but better defending wouldn't have led to the situation.

Had Ryan scored instead of hitting the post we could have played on the counter.

Not played a 442 and made an atrocious double change that killed us off completely?

I genuinely thought today was better than most of our matches this season. Not sure Hughes could have done anything different today. He could have played a formation that attacked rather than trying to scrape a defensive win a team in the bottom three at home. Starting two strikers, neither of which can create, and hiding our best player out on the wing. Shite decision, doesn't affect the fact we had no shots on target and our only tactic is to lump it to Crouch with a team suited to playing football.

6. I'm rating today's game not the past 18 months or 4 and a half years.
Eveyone's an expert when they don't have to do the job.
Stoke kept chasing the game, even when they scored on the counter. Far prefer to lose 3-0 knowing we tried our best to get back in it than try defend a 1-0 loss hoping something falls for us.
Many folks on here pleading for him to go back to 4-4-2. He does and people immediately slating him for it. If he'd played 3-4-3 People would have slated him for it.
C'mon Stoke, let's have those Baggies!

2* started with the same abysmal line up (apart from Wimmer making it worse) as Tuesday. Played with only 2 midfielders again and tried the ploy of hoofing it up to Crouch - again, toothless rudderless passionless and clueless. Wet Sham were there for the taking and Hughes gifted them 3 easy points, threw Tymon to the wolves just like he did with Edwards, dillied and dallied before taking off the abject Fletcher and took Diouf off who BTW looked like one of the few players that was actually trying and continued to hoof it up to Crouch, the defence look devoid of confidence, the midfield apart from Allen is long past his sell by date, the attack is one dimensional and tame and the manager doesn't have a clue how to stop us haemorrhaging goals or how to get us to score. Then to top it all he allowed a MOM performance from the man he tamely sold in the summer, fucking hell it isn't like he didn't know how he plays or how to get under his skin and negate his threat is it? Just please go Hughes you've turned us into a laughing stock. Gouranga.

2 - for the 15 mins when we looked good going forward and should have got back in it. Unbelievable decision not to man mark Arnie. Set pieces embarrassing. Basics embarrasing. Heart and aggression, embarrassing. Quality, Embarrassing.

The only thing that might work is 4-2-3-1 with Shaq in the middle of the 3. In fact that’s the only system that has ever worked under Hughes and the only system we have the players for.

By selling good players and signing inferior ones
Hughes has ensured no matter how hard the team work, how hard they try, theyre just not good enough

5. Thought that he had motivated the team and got them up for it. And, you cant say that the crowd did not get behind the team because they did - big style, but the squad, as the unintelligible Benji says is suffering from under investment, it cannot be be denied. We are too bloody slow and we are picked off too easily every game by pace, major investment needed - 150 million, I would say. You can only play with the players you have got, and they are not good enough. I accused Hughes of not keeping up with the modern game, he has tried the wingbaack system but not got the players to do it. OK his the players he has brought in are not up to it and ultimately he will live or die by that. Cant defend the non Arnie marking or the complete disgrace of goal 3.

It's not exactly starting your 1st or 2nd game ever away against Man City or Spurs? Even if we hadn't used two substitutes already who else should have come on for Pieters?
