He looked good going forward.
He needs a loan down the leagues to polish his game though.

As long as it takes to get an effective side behind him. It's poor, we lack everything that creates good goalscoring opportunities at the end of the day. I watched palace today they created chances that we don't that Berahino would of scored. They looked a handy team today. They have two wingers with pace who put balls in, they get players in the box, we are truly awful atm and we won't see the best of Berahino or anybody for me until the 7 players behind them are both effective and the team is balanced. We're just a team full of individuals that seems to make it up as we go along. You can't do that in top league football and expect to get away with it or any of our strikers to be effective, surely. We don't have two good full backs with an engine to get up and down as well as cross. We don't have wingers with genuine pace, we don't have a Whelan, we don't have a fitter more mobile Charlie Adam, we don't have any goalscoring midfielders that get forward in the box. We must be a wet dream to play against, yet people are judging our most forward players Agree, we are not quick enough in physical or mental speed to break the opposition down. The forwards are feeding off scraps as we try to pick holes in defences as we have ponderously made our way up the pitch. The 5 at the back has been disastrous- slow march up the pitch, both "wingbacks" camped on the oppo 18 yd box until a crap ball goes in- possession breaks down, thump the ball down either channel and we are up against one on one with the our centre backs who must be the slowest in the league! yeah, Bob on. If we had wingers that moved the ball from one end to the other quickly and full backs that got right down allowing the wingers to come inside and a midfield player joining in then we are attacking as a team, pulling defenders out of position and offering more passing opportunities and ultimately more and better goalscoring opportunities for strikers. Like you say by the time we get up the pitch in numbers (the few times we do) they are back and organised. The other times it's 3 against 5 often 2 against 5 in their favour.

I'll never forget a game I went in the championship when we played palace at home and they had sinclair and moses on either wing, they absolutely tore us apart at every opportunity and it was simply down to having 2 shit quick direct wingers on either flank. Panic stations every time they got the ball they just ran at speed with it. Hughes seems to prefer possesion and the guile of his players only we dont have any guile so we start lumping it instead

Oh yeah that Eric Pieters who made the stupid move to give the ref decision to give penalty. The same player who headed, unchallenged, Arnie through on goal only for Jack to pull of a great save. Also the same wannabe footballer who watched Arnie go through and luckily sky it. Yeah clearly Pieters had a blinder against Arnie too... Since when has left back been able to put numerous crosses into the box not the stand too? I suppose Tymon will be fined for such despicable behaviour.

Davejohnno's a bit of a dick. If you haven't yet, look at his comments regarding mental health in a Clark Carlisle thread. Slated Edwards as well. Idiot. I worked him out years ago.

This, and several other threads recently, is the worst development of Hughes protracted agonizing tenure Let’s try at least to be civil with each other, we’re all suffering FFS and lay off individual players as best we can. When the inevitable happens and Hughes is replaced, the new man will have a hard enough job getting this disjointed rabble to work without having to counsel shell shocked players

Ridiculous thread. Tymon was clearly instructed to try and get forward more because our crossing all afternoon, other than Adam's delivery and an early freekick (which we promptly conceded a penalty off) was shocking all afternoon.
You could have picked on anyone today, but hey let's pick on the youngster thrown into a team with zero confidence about them. Wimmer is an absolute joke of a footballer, who the manager has spunked 18 million on, but yeah pick on Tymon.
FFS.

Tymon is a wing back, in the same way that Pieters isn't. I think he'll be a very good addition with a bright future ahead of him, particularly if we decide to use him in his correct position (not advocating that we do that right now).
To use his introduction as something to protect Pieters shows the mental age of some of the posters on here. Pieters made another mistake yesterday that cost us a goal, didn't need to go to ground and give the ref the chance. Like most goals of late it's individual defensive errors that are killing us and he, like the others, continues to make them.
We struggle to do the basics at times.

He looked good going forward. He needs a loan down the leagues to polish his game though. If Tymon was playing in a good solid team he would have looked great but if you're playing in our shambolic team you're bound to be hung out to dry

All you lot were right about wanting him to replace pietdrs weren't you? What a find! As soon as Erik went off, arnie drifted to the left and we fell apart. A large proportion of our super knowledgable crowd cheered the arrival of the 3 subs and we promptly collapsed. I don't know what's happened to you lately Dave. You used to be one of the best poster's on here but nowadays you seem to just post rubbish. Noticed it weeks ago, then again i never thought he was a decent poster anyway.Any Stoke fan who keeps posting shit about Jon Walters ain't worth listening to.

Poor thread, expected better than a young lad to hung out to dry by a fan. It wasn't his fault.
