They're a decent side, used to Wembley........ who haven't scored more than one goal in 6 of their 7 games there this season.
Please go, Mark.

No team in the Prem has scored 4 or more in 4 consecutive fixtures. We're fucking record breakers ffs!

Except against Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund......... Having just heard his Radio Stoke interview he didn't see what happened in the second half coming! 'It's not the system it's the players!'

If the owners wanted to make a statement then I think we could attract a decent name. The fact that they won't means I'm increasingly interested in the Aberdeen manager. We can't carry on like this.

Not an earthly chance old man Coates will go for anybody who hasn't got PL experience half way through a season.

I'd have one eye on next season in the Championship when making the appointment. Seriously.
He should have gone in the summer. This season is fastly turning into an irrelevant confirmation process.

I think we should try to put the "no ambition" tag to bed, but I fear we will confirm it. We will be relegated under Hughes.

The problem is two fold....the board have not supported the manager finacially for two seasons....secondly the manager does not know how to make the players at his disposal fit into a system that works.

Curious, when you say "context" do you mean a pile of shit? Maybe the context of what was surprising about the game or the result? We were pretty wank we have been for ages. Spurs generally rout this side because we want to play slow football and can't live with the speed with which they play the game. Young player rolled out for another bitch of a game that will justify not picking him or any of the other youngsters for a few more months. Again we tried to contain and gave them nothing to worry about at the other end. It was all highly predictable why the reaction?

I think it's more the latter. I think it's very much both. The problems with the manager were crystal clear last season. The board in their wisdom left him in his position and took a profit in the transfer window. By their actions they are far more to blame than him.

The context is sparky refuses to do the bleedin obvious and sign players who have proven they are ' a cut above ' in the championship and are either premier league squad players or premier league starters
18 million on imbula when all he had to was sign will hughes from derby
12 million plus for berahino when all he had to do was sign chris wood from leeds
Because will hughes and woods have already proven they are top players in the championship, all burnley and watford have to do if it doesnt work out, is sell them to a top championship side for lots of money...the three relegated teams and the play off losers are gauranteed to be interested as they are the business in that league
But who is to say, if they are better than the championship. They wont be fine in the prem
Heads we win. Tails we dont lose
That is a scenario dysche or marco silva will go for
But not sparky! he has to make it complicated, and play the smart arse

I think we missed our chance when Allardyce was available. I don't, he wanted a bigger club and he got it in the end, we would never have given him the wages or the money to spend that he was after.

I think we missed our chance when Allardyce was available. 1 million per cent spot on and no hindsight said so at the time , the only one with even a scoobie of saving this lot . we are done now whoever the manager is , club clearly not going to invest so it's just a question if taking our pain. Until may and then seeing this squad dismantled .

I think a beating at Turf Moor in the week will do for him. Coates will turn to Toxic Tone - there is no one else out there he would trust.

Top flight football isn't like any other businesses. You can be doing badly but because the money is so strong within it, even if your business isn't going so well, it depends on who is doing worse than you at the time. There are worse teams than us in our business at the moment and Coates wont change his strategy until this becomes the norm. Hughes has lost it for me and his time is up but in the bigger picture of business, Coates will think that not all is lost even though we think that it is. Staying in the league is his priority and this defeat wont change a thing.
