Pick any player, we could've had brought in for two windows... That is how long his shit his man management is. Why does Ireland have to take a spot? We could've given him severance and taken care of him nicely. It is just another bundling of how to run a club, SCFC is a business not a fucking charity hospital. As I said, he's not taking a spot from anyone, we haven't got anyone else for him to take it from. The time, money, resources and training isn't helping anyone or even Ireland, lets face it he's done at this level. We could've shifted his wages by releasing him and taking care of him outside of the squad, even imbula should of been shifted at a loss. We've failed to bring in players in midfield for almost two years! We couldn't strengthen with the wages and money being wasted, we actually weakened the side by not doing this. Like i said, it's piss poor management. Ireland is taking a spot as is Imbula, Muniesa, Bojan etc... etc... All these deadwood players on the books for two years we are covering in some sort for loans or cash need to go, as does hughes.

Just put p&g on, I know Dennis Smith is a stoke legend, but he needs fucking off the radio. He talks absolute bollocks, making excuses that spurs are just too good, no point in shouting and balling at the players we have lost the game. Look at how we just stood off spurs the entire 90 minutes and let them do what they want, pick us off at will. No movement, no pace, no plan. Shambolic defending. It’s embarrassing, but don’t shout at them no, spurs are just better. Fuck off He said Spurs are just too good???? If we should expect to be humiliated by a team who were 18 points off the pace before the game because they're "just too good", then that says it all really! He either knows fuck all or he's so entrenched in the Radio Stoke "Can't hear a bad word said against the set up" philosophy that his head's gone completely. The best part is the interview with Hughes... "You must be disappointed with the result today Mark". I don't know about journalism but I'm sure you have to ask questions and not make a statement.

Frankly I fail to see how Hughes can be blamed for Shawcross' own goal, for the same player's failure to mark Kane, for Butland's walk in the park, and Edwards' inability to find the right positions. Oh well you can blame Hughes for playing such a young player, but everyone's been demanding that we picked a proper right back with pace, which Tom does have. You can't blame Hughes for players like Shaqiri failing to chase back when Spurs counter. You can't blame him for Diouf falling every time an opponent comes near. You can blame him for changing a winning team, that was playing a system the players were comfortable with. You can blame him for not adapting his team to the way Spurs were playing and for waiting until we were 4-0 down before making substitutions. When he finlly did what difference was Crouch going to make? I thought Stoke played quite well for 52 minutes. Pieters had a good game, not a great one but he wasn't at fault for us falling apart. We could have parked the bus and we might have lost only by one, but we tried to make something out of the game against a better team, which in the end worked against us. Do give over. The rot set in this summer transfer window with the total ineptitude shown on not signing positional players we needed and signing positional players we did not. That is either Hughes fault, Scholes fault, Coates fault or Cartwright's fault. Who is to blame for this position we find ourselves in. As has previously been mentioned the whole club seems inept. It is very concerning.

Yeah I know what you mean, it was a good start but then back to the same old, turgid dump from the last two years after that. I've just posted on another thread my shortlist so I'll leave it here for you... "I've weighed up the managers available and the ones we might be able to tempt to come here. Sorry if it seems a bit far out as I've never ran a football club but here's my shortlist My dog My cat My next door neighbour His next door neighbour The plumber who fixed my sink The plumber who fixed my sinks brother The tram driver who took me into town this morning The guy I ordered a turkey off yesterday The BT customer service support agent I spoke to (Karim I think) Any of East 17, Slade or Wizzard before the Christmas royalties kick in Sorry if any seem a bit out of our league." I can understand most of them and wouldn't mind taking a risk, but the plumber? Seriously? I'd rather us get Brian fucking Little back. Unless Brian Little is now a plumber and fixed your brother's sink I can indeed confirm that Brian Little did fix my sink and is a plumber

its quite eye opening just how you can leave a fairly straightforward thread for an hour or two - come back and see its stretched to three pages and then start to read the corrupted, complete and utter apologist tripe that starts to appear
for instance :-
WTF has this got to do with Steven Ireland ? (except it just further illustrates our management teams total loss of perception and judgement)
(at least as daft as giving Glen Johnson another 12 months us all having witnessed that his legs have gone)
and then, to read other complete and utter deluded dross to the effect that:-
this totally sorry mess we've slowly but surely become (or even parts of it) , aren't actually our even more delusional managers fault ?
Quite simply
Our manager and his team have completely and utterly lost the plot and therefore, have to leave
it would be best for themselves ( because this is just becoming downright embarrassing)
for our players
for the club itself
and for our painfully long suffering fans
and - the emperors new clothes come to mind as particularly applicable right now

"I want to believe" I don't think today was a surprise, last week against Swansea was all you need to know, they were awful and we struggled. Any half decent side will beat us.

after hearing his interview on radio joke last week, coates is the problem. Hughes has no pressure from above. I wish my boss was like that, I would be on a right jolly! Is that tart in your avatar on a commode? I agree with your comment by the way, but its just a calm the nerves interview, he does not want to induce panic in the fans, something else may be being plotted around the Coates' family dining table during Sunday lunch. Hopefully.

They won’t sack him till Wednesday at least. His 3 person set up protects him well.
Coates will need to fire & have a man ready to take the helm straight away.

7 wins in 33 ( you need ten in any 38 and we cant even manage that) Really Struggled to beat a really really poor bottom of the league team at home last week and every game like that these-days is :- a 'must win' routine beatings by anyone who actually wants to We are always 'there for the taking' these- days morale through the floor HUMILIATING IN FACT and I absolutely dread us playing anyone half decent these-days and, a manager living delusionally on another celestial plain through all this There are no 'corners to turn' this time we are fucked ! Mr Coates WE ARE FUCKED ! AND Im telling you, we are going down if this fucking deluded clown stays in charge for another fortnight Poetic, Tony. Prophetic! 👍😬

Is anybody actually hughes in? I’m afraid so. Until you name me an available, British, better manager then yes im Hughes in. If hughes was the best he wouldn’t be at Stoke. If Saido B scored every game he wouldn’t be at Stoke. We are average so as long as the players and management continue to be at least average then I’m happy enough.

Bet365 are the only ones needed to ‘defend’ the current situation. Watching their ads, one would consider Stoke to be a Man Ure or Citeh. If only they were as considerate to the team as they are to their product. I actually feel sorry for Hughes although I do not condone capitulations like today. His hands are obviously very tightly tied.

The worst defence in the league isn't average. Letting in 56 goals last season isn't average Multiple 3,4&5 goal hammerings isn't average. I'm a strong supporter of Hughes but he's done, even if he wins the next 3 games the manner of the defeat today has just done me in

If we stay up and continue to finish in an average position then we are where we should be. Want exciting football? Go watch West Brom think they are arsenal and go down every other year. The sooner you grasp the fact that we are an average (better than Swansea team) the better

Can't defend today.that line up made no sense at all. I just worry who the next manager is. For six months only I would accept it however it would be utter carnage and not just within the fan base either. Martin O'Neill for six months 'to do a job' before appointing a progressive manager (honestly have no idea who) in the summer. Desperate I know.

Indeed, there doesn't even seem to be an acknowledgement of it's weaknesses.

You're overlooking something. There's a handful of posters who've rubbished every criticism of Hughes, however justified, and usually ended up blaming the fans who don't think like them. They won't want to lose face.
