The thread on the RTG forum is very active on it mind. Better let us have a link, the last thread I read on there was ace and we need cheering up www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/2021-uk-city-of-culture-results-thread.1406960/page-8From that page onwards is when the result is announced. PS: We do not like Coventry ever since they delayed kick off in their game to know what the result was in ours to change their game plan.

Hall and Dammers v Williams and his ‘mate’. No contest. from ghost town to host town, but it's a city not a town

I once read that the Coventry kick off was slightly delayed. Then Hill used Coventry's then very rare electronic scoreboard to convey Sunderland's score at Everton. When it was apparent that Sunderland had lost, Coventry and their opponents Bristol City played out the final 15 minutes rather tamely (some players were laughing apparently), to finish to 2-2. Sunderland relegated 20th position on 34 points, Coventry and Bristol in 19th and 18th position both on 35 points. So the Mackems were stitched up like a kipper. So question to Haway, do you hate Bristol City too!?

We should be using the short list status as a springboard for positive developments in the Potteries. Let's market ourselves as the Six Towns, which makes us unique. There's much I hope, we can project that's already here. Crucially what can we attract here, and also what can be originated here in SOT? Whether this be cultural, business, educational or whatever.

He had to be ushered away from our fans a few years ago, just found it mentioned here. www.google.co.uk/amp/www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/day-bristol-city-game-led-66455.amp

main thing council needs to do is make Hanley the town centre but more official. That means moving staff there, and putting it above the six towns thing we have to be honest Fenton and Burslem will always struggle. Focus on Hanley, and hopefully the benefits will proceed through the whole city

One angle/avenue I think we should pursue (we may already be doing it to be fair, I've no idea) is tourism from the Chinese, fair bit of cash swilling around over there and there should be some synergy on the pottery front with at least one region/area of China.

This was supposed to happen when they finished building that eyesore of a building in Hanley, with the city council moving in. It's been finished for years, at great expense, and looks abandoned, with the council still at the civic centre. Unity house was supposed to do the same thing decades ago, until it was demolished, Unfortunately every time the council come up with a plan it's never seen through.

I was at the "World of Wedgwood" earlier in the year and a coach load of Japanese arrived. After their visit, they were in to the seconds shop and spending money like there was no tomorrow. There is world wide interest in the ceramic heritage of Stoke on Trent. We need to capitalise on this - but there needs to be decent places to stay and decent places to eat.

I think the council should have moved in, if the building was ready for them. Leaving them in Stoke to 'support' that town centre is pointless, especially given they're getting thousands of new students within the next few years.

I was there earlier in the year and a guy who paints the gold on told us that tecently a chinese bloke had come to visit and ordered £60k worth to send back home. plenty to see with Emma B and moorcroft etc.

Not culture per se but some are still working hard to bring in fresh ideas.... surely can't be Coventry as they nabbed City of Culture...
