For all the talk of Erik Pieters, The real concern should be Darren Fletcher.
He's been awful lately.

I think if we are going to continue with 2 in midfield, we need to bring GCam in alongside Allen until Jan - GCam has the legs to play in a 2 and Bring in at least 1 dynamic centre mid in January. Fletch is a good option to bring on for the last 20 mins - half hour if we are defending a lead, but doesn't have the legs or dynacism to play 90 mins week in, week out.

Incompetence springs to mind (not incontinence), he has been a good player but looks worse as time has gone on this season, he needs dropping but who do we bring in ?

Another one to chalk up to Carto"s unique scouting skills. Putting him on a huge contact just as his legs start to go!

Disgraceful whats wrong with the bloke why does he never sign midfielders with physical presence.

No doubt about it, Fletcher is one of the major reasons for the amount of goals we've shipped. Sits too far deep without actually contributing defensively.
Imo, we looked better on Saturday when Afellay came on. Plays with his head up, always wants to go forward and isn't afraid to dribble. Pretty concerning though when only one of out first-team midfielders is under the age of 30.

I wonder if Beswicks have a young midfielder on their books that plays for Huddersfield?
I wonder if we have a club official that has links to Beswicks?
I wonder if said player could have a serious touch of the Steven N'Zonzi's about him?
I wonder if that is the type of midfielder we've missed since said Steven N'Zonzi left?
I wonder if i'm talking **** ?

Baggies fan I know told me his legs were going last season and that whilst he would be a big miss he wouldn't have been up to another season at this level week in week out.

Everyone knows the answer to our midfield conundrum is a young lad currently plying his trade in Spain...think he goes by the name of Marc muniesa

I like M'Vila too. I know whats going to happen with Billing. He'll come back in the New Year, have an absolute blinding end to the season and bugger off to a bigger club in the summer. He was ripe for an investment last year when surprisingly, he was in and out of the side in the Championship. His belting performance at the Etihad in the cup seemed to wake a few people up as to how good he is and how good he could be. Beswicks must have been tipping the wink in our direction though. God knows what happened there.

Had a similar conversation with a baggies fan at work who lives up here now, well liked in general by the baggies but he also felt we were signing him on the downward slope and struggled towards the end of last season, early on I thought it might have been sour grapes but it is now looking as though he was right.

I think he could still be a useful player for us, but I don't think he can play week in week out any more. In the early weeks of the season I thought he did a great job, but I agree he's been well off the pace the last few weeks, and for all the running Allen does, the two of them as a midfield pairing is looking lightweight at this level.
Affelay looked like his old self when he came on yesterday and reminded us what a class act he can be when fit. I'd start him at Spurs and give Fletcher a much-needed rest.

Is this record of consecutive games an issue?
Hughes afraid to drop him because of it
I hope not
Agree with above, needs a rest and Affelay should Come in for him

This is why we need Affelay on the frame Fletcher has done ok but not great in every game . Hughes needs to try more of his squad

And any 'village idiot' can see FLetcher is not a 3 games a week player. Unfortunately, our very own 'village idiot' cant see that and has adopted a policy of completely burning out Joe Allen instead.🤔

I think this thread is very harsh on Fletch, overall and on balance he has been a force for good.

As a WBA supporter, who is enjoying our release from Toxic, I thought I'd call back to see how you regard DF now. I'm afraid I can confirm the thoughts of the two other Baggies. I did post my thoughts at the time of the signing and it looks as though I was correct. Looks like The Chav in the Cap pulled your pants down (twice), although the Fletcher deal was obviously player driven.

In all fairness he did try to warn us about Berahino, Hughes chose to ignore him !
