With a number and name on it for Christmas.
£47.
Fuck off Stoke.
Just fuck right off.
Billionaire owners, premier league revenues and they think it's OK to charge nearly £50 for a 6 year old's top.
There was a thread the other day (awful thread granted) about what makes you proud of Stoke City.
Well this blatant exploitation doesn't.
It's any wonder people are falling out of love with the game.

If your 6 year old is small-normal size get the 5-6 infant kit and you'll get the full kit for that much.

I understand that Stoke have given thousands of these away to local kids. There's been several stories of converts via this route. So I suppose in a sense if you buy one you'd be helping to facilitate this conversion process. Doing yer bit for the growing Stoke community.
Alternatively I've heard of some Vale households who havn't embraced it at all. Might be worth standing with a placard outside Boslem Town Hall. Wanted.

There’s 7XL. Seven. I don’t think people that fat should be allowed sportswear.

Yes they're not cheap, and yes I appreciate everyone not everyone can afford them but in terms of the amount of wear they get they're far cheaper than a £20 Gap sweatshirt or a Next hoodie (other brands are available) And just for balance we're one of the cheapest in the Premier League. And as stated further up we've given thousands to schoolkids in the area. Could we do better? Yes Are we one of the better clubs? Most definitely

If you honestly believe that £47 represents good value then you deserve to be ripped off. Do you go for the worst mortgage deal or most expensive energy tariff too so you can help out the poor banks and energy companies? Stoke are profiteering and it stinks. The fact other clubs do it is irrelevant.

I do in the sense that for £47 my kids probably wear that top 100+ times, and they have tops from high street fashion outlets that we would pay half the price for and get 10% of the wear. Yes it would be good if they were cheaper but I don't feel ripped off, if I did I just wouldn't buy them simple as that.....

I feel a teachable moment about "you don't always get what you want" and "life is not fair" is coming the kid's way.

I may be wrong on this but I think the club have a limited input in terms of fixing the price. I believe that the manufacturer/supplier really calls the shots to a great extent so I wouldn't slag the club off too much. Still an awful lot to pay for a kids shirt, though.

I mean its only £35 if you have an ordinary shirt without any extras.
The kit manufacturer pays the club in advance, or in set instalments over the period of the agreement and then the majority of the money goes to them so Stoke will have little to do with it.
Then there's the fact that the merchandising side of the club is there to make money, to pay the wages of the people working for that side of the business.
You're mostly just looking for a reason to complain because it's more than you were expecting, and clearly don't want to pay it so are using it to attack the club. I'm sure if they sacked a couple of people in the run up to Christmas they could justify bringing it down a few quid.

Would Shawcross struggle on £69,800 per week?

Lucky he didn't ask for a play station. You mean a totally overpriced piece of tech made in the far east for peanuts on behalf of a multi-billion pound corporation run by multi millionaires making shed loads of profit? Apple have been proving for years that you can sell cheap tech for 20 times more than it costs to manufacture. Make an iPhone for $55 then sell them for over a $1,000. How you can hold it in your hand and be pleased that you've been utterly ripped off is beyond me. Still, as long as the millionaires and billionaires keep getting richer off the backs of ordinary people. But then again, as simple says, how on earth could Stoke afford to pay the players wages if they weren't overcharging for kid's tops? I can just imagine the horror on the WAGS faces when their husbands pay drops from £5.2m per annum to £5.19m. I mean, it'd ruin Christmas wouldn't it.

The last full priced shirt I bought was an Ajax one and that's just because I was in Amsterdam and was going to watch them.
I haven't paid more than 15 quid for a Stoke shirt in the last 10 years and I get one most years.

The last time I was in Amsterdam I popped to a sports shop to pick up a Netherlands top expecting it to be cheaper in their own country. €70. Unbelievable. Do you usually buy last seasons shirts then?

Do you usually buy last seasons shirts then? Yeah they're a proper rip off, I think this one about 80 Euros. But it is a nice shirt. And I do but I don't really care about having the new one, which I guess is the issue here. Although it might be worth stocking up on a few for next Christmas come April/May when they're selling them off cheap!
