Don't think the problem is attitude. The problem appears to be a severely ill newborn baby affecting him mentally.

I hope not, he has tallent to burn and I don't think he needs a team building around him to affect the game.

How dare he have a sick child. I think that's way too simplistic a way to look at it.

How dare he have a sick child. I think that's way too simplistic a way to look at it. Totally agree but it's the first, and quite a large stumbling block in offering any critique on him as a Stoke City player. Jumping to conclusions about his attitude is equally as simplistic, and plain wrong.

Attitude problem? Do you know something we don't? His body language on the pitch says it all. giving his teammates shit and telling everyone how to play while he is the one lacking any effort or passion. He clearly sees himself too good to be here.

worse I reckon Bony had scored 2 by now for us, Jese scored against arsenal and that has been it since then! Bony had 2 Goals in 690 mins in a Stoke shirt, Jese has 1 Goal and 1 Assist in 460. Jese has also put in 2x the amount of tackles per game in addtition to showing better passing and moments of much better movement too, all while going through the stuff he is dealing with.

(obviously if it was medically possible)

He's even less effective Bony can't run but at least he's still got great strength and is hard to get the ball from.

(obviously if it was medically possible) It's a good question, to my mind you either give the guy compassionate leave and have no expectations to play or you move the care here. All I know is that I would like to see him playing near his best here. Fully fit I would be tempted to give him a run as a proper left flanker running from deep. All that said.... If the above link is accurate and he hasn't been seeing the kid and he has just been taking the piss and tossing it off in Spain I would issue him a final warning with a view to loan contract termination.

I imagine we have paid a large chuck for his loan fee and a large amount of his wages, at the end of the day its a business and if I was Coates I would want some return for the money I have paid if the link is right and that's his game then fuck him off

Jumping to conclusions about his attitude is equally as simplistic, and plain wrong. Is it? We've got to judge on what we've seen and what came before since his injury at his other clubs. What we've seen ties in with what was seen there and why he's been loaned out. He's playing like Bojan did when he came back from injury. I agree re attitude and actually don't think there's any evidence to suggest it's been anything but spot on. He's just been a bit shit and looks like someone who's body can't do what his brain wants it to do.

I think we need to see him in a few more games before we decide whether he's a busted flush. It's frustrating because he has shown in the past he's something special but has he lost his mojo? Has the injury taken too much from him? Is his personal situation too problematic? If the answer is 'yes' to all of these questions then we'd be wise to try and look elsewhere come January if we can get out of the loan.

He's got a lot going on behind the scenes and within his family life, hes a human being afterall and i know my worklife would suffer with a severely ill child of mine was in hospital in another country.
i think he's a credit that he still trains and wants to play in the matches.
We're judging him after a spell in which he played a lot of good sides and good defenders. Took his goal well against arsenal and i back him to perform in another run in the side. Cant be worse than Ramadan.

Not had much of a chance and obviously affected by his problems. Having said that I’ve seen nothing yet that says he’s anything other than bang average

Every minute on the pitch for Ramadan is helping his development which is useful for us in the long term. Jese has to be way better than Ramadan to deserve his place and game time. which he isn't

Its stifling his attacking instincts it would only be helping his development if you were thinking of developing him as a wingback and personally I think he's too slow for that role.

Anybody who has had a sick child will fully sympathise with him , he’s playing in another country and his baby is ill, if that doesn’t affect your work then I don’t know what would , let’s judge the lad when his baby gets better as his frustrations on the pitch is totally understandable when you think what he’s coping with , some of the comments on here are probably off people who have never had kids

(obviously if it was medically possible) with the money he has already got and is still earning, you'd think he could manage that himself and would have thought about it when signing on loan ? or even taken a year out until his kid got better?
