I'd go for Dyche if I were them. But they and their fans may see him as too similar to Allardyce. Again, I think Allardyce is a decent manager, but West Sham seem not to agree. Its all the bollocks about playing the so called West Ham way that stops them liking curtain managers.

Seems a very strange move from the Dildo Bros.
Moyesy will have no honeymoon period. The fans will be foaming at the mouth to lay into him at the earliest opportunity.
He would have gone down like a lead balloon here - but there was always that 10% chance that someone like Coates would have gone for him.
I wouldn't have considered him as a candidate at West Ham in a million years. I thought Sunderland had made him completely radioactive.
He's clearly not without ability as a manager though as Preston and Everton show.

Moyes should be at Old Trafford! Best manager they ever had!

Moyes would be a bizarre choice of successor, but would at least thankfully take him off Coates' radar if Hughes was to go soon. Allardyce was unloved there despite doing an okay job - Moyes' appointment would not go down well with those stuck in the 1960s and the "West Ham won the World Cup" bollocks.

The choice of Moyes is testament to the dearth of available decent managers around at the moment and as others have said and I agree I would have been pretty depressed if Coates sacked Hughes and brought in Moyes. So with Hughes's position still a little precarious Moyes out of the frame for me is good news. It's a major gamble for the Dildo Bros albeit a lazy option. For Moyes you would think it's last chance saloon for him failure at West Ham and his future would be playing golf or managing Scotland...I would go for the golf if I were him.

If it is Moyes its a very strange appointment considering his last job at Sunderland. I know that job was a tough ask considering whats gone on there but he had no effect whatsoever on results & they went without a whimper really. West Ham could have just signed there death warrant by going down this route. At least it takes him off Coates wish list if Hughes goes or is pushed.

You've got to really fucking hate your club to decide to let David Moyes manage it.

Isn't it going to be a 6 month appointment initially? Even so, there don't seem to be many options. Perhaps Harry could have come in for 6 months, although I've no idea if he has any sort of relationship with the Chairmen.

I think Moyes will prove to be a good choice. I know he didn't do well at Sunderland but there are a lot of issues at that club and they were always likely to go down sooner or later. Mark Hughes was considered virtually unemployable after the QPR debacle but did well for at least the first half of his time here.

Mark Hughes was considered virtually unemployable after the QPR debacle but did well for at least the first half of his time here. Hughes only had one real failure on his CV. Two at an absolute push. Moyes has three in a row and he was going stale when he was at Everton, who were as ready for him to move on as he was.

I'll thank Slav for the last season at the Boleyn but since then the team has lost the defensive nous and discipline that Sam ingrained despite a few game raised performances against Spurs/Chelsea/ManU etc..Bilic's failed to stabalise/improve, albeit we now can look pretty but ineffective going forward. Bilic's a nice bloke and a good manager with intelligent top players but not with the sort West Ham (overhyped/overrated/overpaid/)have and neither has he managed over the course of his contract improve individuals or even establish our best playing shape or personnel. A Moyes/Neville dream team awaits (apparently) - he's probably the best or most desperate of Sullivan's cheap options - His recent record suggests there's no way I can be confident he'll stop the rot - I so hope this isn't true. Rumour Dyche is who we're really after - but we'll see. Whoever gets the poisoned chalice first task (other than getting some points) will be preventing Lanzini/Hernandez bailing out in Jan. In the meantime even I'd put a few quid on us playing Championship football in front of a half filled toxic bowl next season.. with Sullivan claiming "next level" Appointing Moyes is a disaster waiting to happen mate. You would have been better sticking with Bilic is he's the alternative. Out of the frying pan 'n' all that....

www.balls.ie/football/talksport-west-ham-owners-376237Cobham, I agree that Moyes could be a decent solution but recent appointments suggest otherwise - I doubt he'll get much time, acceptance or appreciation from the support either. A bit like getting the right players Sullivan's always talked a good game but takes the cheap or desperate option although I agree there's a dearth of current choice and I doubt we'd pay what it took to lure a top manager anyway. Most WHU have no problem with Bilic going - he had to - but a replacement plucked straight from the management failure tree - well the bloke having the rant says it all.

Call me silly but I think Moyes will do well. I agree and think they've got too, much fire power to be outside the top ten shake up .He spent a lot of time watching us when out on f work so I think may well understand how to get Arnie firing too .
