He started off really poorly but grew into the game I thought. Still the obvious man to come off when we made the change. Ball for Choupo first half was outstanding though.

Nothing wrong with Ramadan that a vote of confidence in his ability and a run of games in the team would not cure. Peter Beagrie wanted to beat his man two or three times before crossing. It is a matter of experience and when you do it something he can only get by playing. He is probably our best option at the moment, keep the faith!

Put people through 3 times first half most notably the Choupo chance. I was criticising him last week but thought he was much better today which seems to be not the opinion of most.

Do we have to have a go at a player every game on here ?
he's had his confidence knocked and is learning a new league and a new role. He hasn't had a run in the team to find his feet.
he's doing ok and I can see him coming good - if he's given the opportunity.

It looks like he's second guessing himself at the moment. The instinct and unpredictability has been coached out of him. If someone bid £15m for him, perhaps not unreasonable to believe, I'd take it.

Defensively I think he's very good.
Offensively I'm not so sure.

Front three needs to be Choupo and Shaq behind Diouf. On that basis there is no starting spot for him right now. He is working hard but not doing enough in the final third to warrant retention in the starting XI.

did play better today compared with last week, had more space and time on the ball today.still think we need someone with more presence and ability in that position if we persist with this formation.

He needs our players to actually pass the ball to him, for a start. He's been badly managed, and needs to build confidence.
Taking him off was the wrong decision, too. Taking off either Choupo or Shaqiri, who are both fairly ineffective out wide, should have gone.

He will end up being a decent right wingback

I don't agree that he has gone backwards. I think last season he was built up to be better than he actually is. He remains a good prospect. He needs to work on his decision making. He looks good with ball at feet but then too often plays the wrong pass. He will get better with experience but I would prefer to see Choupo start in that position at the moment.

Definitely better the last 2 matches.
He is 20 and critics should cut him some slack.
Would love to see him develop as a WB; they are the future instead of FBs and Wingers.

Just depends what position you would prefer to see Choupo start in. Last 2 games Ramadan has been deployed as a wing back no matter what Hughes or Bowen say. If you've watched the games you should be aware of that. Defensively he's far better than Choupo.

He needs to start taking abit of responsibility for me because at the minute he picks the easy options rather than being direct and taking a man on

Compare today to when he played against Boro, Palace and Swansea last season and he seems so far off it. He couldn't beat his man like he used to, which was a big part of his game. Whether it's confidence or coaching I don't know, but I'm worried.

Definitely gone backwards for some reason. Lacking drive and confidence from last season. He doesn’t play! Hughes chops and changes too much and keeps the players that should be playing regularly out (e.g Crouch) Give Ramadam a few games in a row and see how he actually does, still one of our more talented players and tracks back... the end product will come

It was good but one any PL player should have made. Other than that pass he was poor. Great bit of skill and a perfectly weighted ball in to Chuopo, shame the opportunity was fluffed, there were a few occasions where Chuopo had the ball in the box in a dangerous position and he just slowed the play rather than being direct and taking his man or a shot on. Sobhi could've easily had 2 assists today, showed his quality and I thought he looked dangerous but still quite raw. Really don't understand the criticism he's getting tonight.

I thought he was ok but when the board went up it was always going to be for him and rightly so.

One good pass out of 10 chances, too many times carries ball too far and then tries to beat 3 men and loses the ball, then he looks crap.

He needs a goal, almost as much as Berahino, sure he is not an out and out striker but he's a forward player and he has made 24 Premier League appearances for us now, he should have chipped in with a goal or two in that time, it would do wonders for his confidence.

Nah... Hughes and co have obviously coached the goal scoring instinct out of him. He was prodigious when he first arrived after all. Maybe they should be encouraging him to stand on it again.
