I can understand why he's not playing.
He was utterly woeful against Rochdale in his last game for us.
A shame but true; he's just lost it.

By his own admission the adrenaline got him through post injury. In the months leading up to his performance v Wolves in the FA Cup he was poor, and the Wolves match was the straw that broke the camels back. Don’t get me wrong, Bojan was a breath of fresh air for the club both pre and post injury, initially, but rapidly went downhill. Failed in Germany and subsequently failed in Spain. Mental or physical, I don’t know, but something is clearly not right with him. If our new manager can't motivate him to start a new what do we need him for? He's already come back from several setbacks, surely he can breathe again...

Appoint Flores and Bojan will be on the first plane back I imagine. O'Neill?... not a chance.

As a striker I suspect, not sure who he would play up top with though - maybe he would work best with Saido (if he can ever find his form again). A combination of Bojan and Crouch or Diouf doesn't fill me with hope. I guess Jese is leaving this month but if Flores is in charge maybe he will remain here for the rest of the season? could be an option. Out of all our strikers there is nobody that fills me with confidence who I'd put down as first name on the team sheet, and it's going to cost a lot to solve this problem so I guess we are stuck with what we have.

Bojan and Diouf have played together before reasonably effectively. Remember Spurs away?

As I said before, some players never recover fully from a young ACL, especially those those rely on quick burst of speed and sharp turns. He’s never been the same and he probably never will be. In addition to the physical injury, the psychological effects can be significant because it’s in the back of their minds that it will happen again (the pain is intense and the tear is very loud).

He doesn't need to be the same again. Lots of forwards settle into deeper positions anyway (Rooney one current example, Pirlo the most famous) and become, not better, but effective by offering something else. His footballing brain is still superior to anyone we've currently got in attacking or any positions for that matter, and he can still distribute the ball from deep by seeing openings in the opposition half before they happen. He is a luxury we can afford for the high dividens he'll provide, however, we should not expect him to do what Walters used to do, what Diouf and Choupo are doing now, running non-stop, and of course by playing him deep we should not expect him to suddenly become a ball winning grafter.

I’d bring him back and push him forward. Flores probably sounds more ideal with a chance of resurrection than MON and Keane yelling at Bojan lol

So basically you're asking for a lightweight, non-tackling, out of form no 10 to play as deep lying midfielder - a position he has never played before and, even at his best, has never looked the slightest bit suited for. Oh - and in a team with a leaky defence that is struggling for confidence. That isn't even a luxury - it's completely and utterly bonkers.

I distinctly said deeper, not as a ball winning grafter, which you then go on to criticise him for not being. No one ever asked Pirlo to be Whelan... Bojan may not have played there for Stoke, but he did for Barca, when he couldnt get into the team at the front because Messi was always playing, he was tried in a more Xavi-like role, although at the time Xavi was always playing...so he had to move along. I would say that at his best he looked completely suited for the role for the reasons given above.
