He did well and his best game for Stoke by a mile
BUT
did nobody notice his awful man-marking meant Watford had 2 chances. He completely lost Deeney in the first half and was lucky for an offside flag wrong raised.
Then in 2nd half he didnt track a runner going past him when the ball ricocheted of Fletchers butt. Wimmer was stood motionless.
Much better but im still far from convinced. Shawcross was immense and covered well

Today was all about shawcross, he was immense.
Wimmer has a lot of hard work to do but yes today was a big improvement for him.

Played as well as Zouma and Ryan. Outstanding. Wish there were even a slim chance to keep Zouma.

We all know that moving Ryan from the centre to the right of a back 3 is not going to work. Cameron is a utility player who is probably better used in midfield, so a Zouma type of right cb is needed if we are to continue with a back 3 next season. Maybe the management are hoping that Souttar or Sweeney will be able to step up but I reckon we'll still need a bit more experience in the Zouma role even if it is another loan to give Souttar or Sweeney time to mature.

Still doesn't convince me at all. 2/3 massive errors that weren't punished luckily this week.

The way we set up yesterday seemed to suit the 3 CBs as they were able to say compact as both Pieters and Diouf were essentially full backs rather than wing backs with Shaq and Ramadan wide.
The downside is we need the lone central striker to be able to hold the ball which Chopps couldn't..then again who can ?

You see I knew there had to be an explanation. So Wimmer was shit after all. He was just made to look good by the outstanding performances of Zouma and Shawcross......... Hang on but isn't that the Shawcross who's past it and shit and should have been sold? Help. My brain hurts.

The downside is we need the lone central striker to be able to hold the ball which Chopps couldn't..then again who can ? We were definitley more of a 5-4-1 than a 3-4-3 yesterday. This did help the 3 CBs stay tight and avoided them getting pulled into wide positions as they have in the past. Against Bournemouth GCam was constantly pulled out to the left, which for a right footed player was not ideal. Yesterday's system did help the defence but it also made it very difficult for us to keep the ball. Choups did struggle to hold the thing up but he was very isolated most of the time. Shaq tried to get further forward and Diouf ran miles from RB to support the striker but 5 at the back will always hamper the efforts of the striker.

Today was very frustrating as they only had 2 shots on target with both goals being avoidable. Wimmers definitely looking better by the week. The problem is our wingbacks and CMs being to slow to Close down and not offering enough going forward with the exception of Allen who I thought was excellent today.

Looking far better than Zouma at the moment. Wimmer is gradually getting better. Zouma is being forced to play RB too much due to Diouf not getting back enough. He does not have the physical make-up to handle of a tricky winger. (Like Cameron)

He's left footed, as is Wimmer. Not sure why you can't have two left footers in a back 3 but LMH knows best.

Thought Allen was excellent again Apart from his first touch turning into a 10 yard pass to a Brighton player leading up to their 2nd. He wasn’t the only one but he didn’t cover himself in glory for either goal.

Nothing, he's just 2nd best left sided centre half. Always been the case, when all fit, but there's too many on here that don't quite understand football, so the collective opinion is BMI is awesome, Wimmer is shit. Fact is they are both of similar standards, but Wimmer just edges, and has bags more potential.

Still think Ryan’s positional play is questionable and he doesn’t have the pace anymore to get back. Think it would be better for him and us if we went to a back 4.
