A bit left field, but he knows the players, seems to have faith in the youngsters ( well at least plays in the checkatrade? Cup with them) and tries to go forward. He's not foreign- could he takeover from Hughes?

He usually comes in about this time of the season and we go on a good run of form.
He's never short of confidence like others.

lovely fella - great bloke but his appearence in the first team would now be more embarrassing than Glen Johnsons recent exploits
the sad truth is neither are equipped to play in the premier league anymore
its for younger - faster, more agile players
sorry

It would come with risks particularly considering how undercooked he'd be but the question is the very same as the Hughes one. Could it be any fucking worse?

At least Charlie's cross field passes go to Stoke players and he isn't afraid to have a bloody shot outside the area.
At the moment we couldn't pass wind and our long range shooting is as rare as Haleys comet.

Fletcher's performances have brought memories of David oldfield flooding back

Wouldn't class him as bad as Johnson, tone! The one thing I would have done, is brought him on against the cheats, and give em something to cry about!

I think the problem with Charlie is that Sparky sees him as a box-to-box player, when, in reality, he doesn't have the legs, the defensive nous or the positional sense to play in that role.
I've always said that Charlie is a no.10 - he can't do the running required further back, but give him that free role, and he has the ability, vision and technique to score and create in the final third.

He's fine for the dressing room and in training but his time as a starter has past.

I think they should make Charlie Adam and Peter Crouch co-player managers. I would be like being led by Danny deVito and Arnold Schwartzeneger, in Twins. Disfunctional but very funny to watch.

he should be starting home games against the sides who will be around us in may, last saturdays team selection told me at 2.45 we were in real trouble, ....1 up front in a home game v bournemouth, and 2 defensive holding midfielders, flooding/stifling the midfield against the top 6 is understandable.....but against fkn bournemouth is nothing short of scandalous

His best form was at Blackpool in a three, with two workhorses alongside him. Liverpool didn't use him that way and neither have we for an extended period of time.
It's a no brainer really.
If he is to play it must be in midfield alongside Allen and Cameron.
I'll let others decide the rest of the side.

His contract extension is another one to add to the list of utterly ludicrous decisions around this club in these past 2/3 years.

Shots per game he must be right up there. Put him on from the start and give him 45 mins to weave his magic then bring on a sub. If we are 2 up the opposition need to push forward and leave gaps to exploit. Unfortunately when we are 2 up we sit back and let the opposition come at us and it usually ends in tears.

Best stick with Fletch and Forrest then. Unfortunately we have no one else, personally I'd put Cameron in there instead of Allen. I'm no great fan of Joe Allen but he is infinitely superior to Fletcher who, in the main, has been far worse for us than the much maligned Glen Whelan. I've been desperately disappointed with Fletcher. He's been largely crap since he arrived. Allen, Cameron and Adam for me tomorrow.
