It only bothers me in the sense that an half empty stadium sends a message to the players and to anyone watching - we're only behind the team when we're winning. The only game I've left early was the 0-8 drubbing against Birmingham - and that was to send the message to the players that if they can't be bothered neither can I. I don't have the right to tell people to leave or not - as you say its up to them. All I'm doing is pointing out the message it sends. We have crap fans who are more bothered about an early tea than getting behind the team when they're down. Leaving early sends a message. If you are happy with that message fine. But to deny you are sending that message is either disingenuous, stupid or naive. I must've left earlier than you as I thought it was 7-0

I live a long way away from the ground and usually leave just before kick/off. There's a buz from Neck End that I pick-up after walkin' to Fenton and that drops me off 'ome in Fegg'ayes usually around hafe thray. Dusna cost me much coz I gotta buz pass an a senior citizen sayson tickets dust knowst. The other plus wif leavin' early before kick-off is that it saves me wotchin' the shite Hughes serves up.
GET THE FECKER A BUZ PASS I SAY.

I go to the pictures, l'm a spectator. I go to the football, l'm a supporter. That said, l guess there's some who just watch as spectators.
This business about getting away to beat the crowds doesn't make any sense to me. You'd be better parking 25 / 30 minutes walk away. Try leaving Alton Towers for an evening event that finishes at a set time. Hopeless.

I read this debate everytime it comes up and see both sides of the story but because I walk home I'm perhaps in a different position to most. As it happens, I always stay until the bitter end, not because I'm a super fan but I've only got the wife to go home to you see and quite frankly I've often thought I should get a season ticket for the North car park, just so I can sit in my car for an hour and have a bit of peace. It has however made me think we should have an alternate verse for our anthem and whilst I'm no Tony Hatch, I thought I'd have a stab at writing one while the mood takes me.. so here goes. We’ll be with you, be with you, be with you, until the 82nd minute We’ll be with you, be with you, be with you, unless we think you can’t win it We’ll be going, be going, be going, we’ll be leaving come what may We’ll be going, be moaning, and groaning, down the Stanley Matthews Way City… City… Tell the lads in red and white, we’ll be home by six tonight City… City… You were shit, so we don’t have to stay….. Might need a bit of tweaking before block 19 can sing it but you get the idea Or maybe it could be Forgive me Delilah I just couldn't take anymore.

It's really easy to claim logistics as the reason but so many to leave so early in the Chelsea match I thought was not practising what we preach (we'll be with you etc) and also not a great example to set to kids by giving up on something before the end.

Please admin can we have a separate section for the "leaving early" thread.
It's so popular and happens after every f***ing home game.
It's so entertaining seeing the rubbish spouted again and again and again and again and again........

The fans performance today was like the teams performance at Bristol City. Half arsed. Bullshit mate - our fans were still behind the team rock solid at 2 0 as we had good possession and a goal would have made it very interesting with 20-25 to go - a sending off that should have been would have made it even more interesting and again the crowd made it known that Dean had fucked us over - many drifted away after the amazing 3rd went in and that is perfectly acceptable and better than booing or other such demonstrations....... Punctuation would have helped us to understand your post!

I park up on that industrial estate in Duke Street, Fenton. Stay to the end, get to the car by 5.30, straight onto the A50, and home by 7.45 or so. Don't get stressed or owt - it''s just what we do. Of course, it has to be different strokes for different folks.....

Perhaps if the club addressed some of the issues regarding the car parks then we wouldn’t feel the urge to leave a couple of minutes before time. I for one don’t relish the thought of sitting on Stanley Matthews Way for forty odd minutes, as at ninety minutes the stewards hold the cars back on the South car park for pedestrians, yet the pedestrians are mostly people who get into cars on the car parks further down the road (car parks which are not lining the club’s arse pockets) and thus letting those drivers get away before me! That situation is then further compounded by there being no police presence at the lights by the Hem Heath pub filtering the match traffic out! We used to get a police man in the sodding third division, now in the Premier League for ten years and nothing. I’m not joking, it’s taken till well after six to get home in recent seasons for me. I don’t particularly like leaving before time, but if it’s a choice between that and sitting in my car for an extra forty minutes, damn right I’ll leave early. I suppose the ground’s only been open since the late 1990’s though, we shouldn’t expect the club to have sorted too much out just yet 🙄 absolutely spot on
Those double lights at Hem heath are beyond a joke, the ones by the Rugby club halfway down Stanley Matthews way are too. What ever happened to the Bobbys controlling the traffic situation with their hands.
It appears to me that once you are out of the ground, then you are on your own

Why does it bother when people leave? Like you have a right to tell people when they can leave or not. I've never understood it. I've left early once (and it was because my lift needed to get to work) and missed Brammer's goal vs Luton. So have never left early since. But it doesn't bother me. They've paid their money, they can do what the fuck they want with that time. My only gripe as ever is that when people do leave early actually fucking leave! +1 if you're leaving no problem, but don't stand at the exits so I can't f#;"ING see if you're leaving go if not sit the f"*k down

Then after 30 mins they want to get up again busting for a piss 5 mins before HT, up they get again, rushing for another beer !!! repeat the above for the 2nd half, then i get moaned at for going 2/3mins before full time, to get my train back to Bournemouth, via London !!! now, i no longer go in the Boothen, but go to Q Railings, !!

Im thinking of travelling to all the 92 grounds in England and leaving early . Why just visit the grounds when you can add a little extra to it.

Some of my fav times as a Stoke has been when we score a last minute winner, sadly I am struggling to remember one at the Britt? But I live in hope. Its a free country and if people wish to leave that's fine just don't block the stairway either go or stay ffs

I can understand that some people need to leave early to catch a train, bus or try to beat the traffic (a fool's errand). I can understand why some people chose to leave early in protest against a poor performance. However, cannot understand why anyone would leave early when the score is 2-2 against the Shit and we have a chance beating them.
