I left after the fourth went in and I must admit I've not seen that amount of folk outside ever at 82 minutes. The laughable thing was I still queued getting out😄

I left after the fourth goal went in, and didn't particularly regret it. I've stayed until the end of enough four goal drubbings in the last two seasons to know that there's very little fun in watching our players begging the referee to blow the final whistle and then spending two hours to get off the car park because 20,000 people left before you and are ahead in the queue.

I think the club know that most who leave early do it to get away due to congestion.

I'd like to thank all those who left early, I was able to applause the boys of the pitch and still be in the house for 5.20. So once again, many thanks

It's not just leaving early. though, is it?
A couple of blokes in front of me walked in on 34 minutes and left on 77.
Probably on player complimentaries - we get a lot of them in Block 2 - doubt they were Chelsea supporters

Hopefully they get the message that we want better. Nobody wants to lose 0-4 regardless of the opposition. A full strength team losing 0-4 to relegation fodder is worthy of criticism - direct or implied (which is what leaving early indicates). Losing 0-4 with a lashed up defence against last year's champions having put in a half decent performance is not worthy of criticism. It's worthy of appreciation. I understand some people feel they have to get off to get home early - and if a few don't do that it isn't an issue. Anyone who left early to in any way criticise the team after the performance they put has a very suspect sense of perspective. In the circumstances any "we want better" posturing is just a bit pathetic. I've said this before and I mean it - it isn't the manager or the backroom staff that will get us relegated. It's the "I'm entitled to far better" fans who that will see us go down. Or rather they won't see us go down because they won't actually be there. Stoke's much lauded 12th man wishes it to be known that it is no longer in the stadium. His chips are getting cold.

Of course it will be the manager but Pepe has made many valid points. In terms of getting away from the ground easier has anyone any ideas?

Sadly most leave early when we are getting hammered so last season it was frequent occurrence.
The bonus is I get a quick return to my car as the hill walk is clear.

we only seem to have this conversation when we've lost- so is it ok to leave early if we're winning or does that too send out the wrong message?

Not a conspiracy, but waste of two tickets Inclined to think they were chums of Diouf or Bruno Couple of games ago we had the Berahino fan club behind us - three shrieking women and three kids - god, they made a racket, shrieking, shouting, checking their phones, taking videos, etc. When he got that assist for Jesse they went absolutely mental.

"We only seem to have this conv when we lose" - because when we win it doesn't happen to the same level.
Anyway pepelepeu appears to think along the same lines as me and puts it more eloquently. As he, I simply appreciated the effort put in on a difficult day and wanted to show that at the final whistle. My frustration is also borne of recently moving to the family stand and having to watch my language.

Wow - we seem to have reached the point where the definition of being a true Stoke fan is how early you leave. It won't be long before someone comes on here bragging about the fact they left half an hour before the game started in order to miss the traffic/avoid having to associate with the team on the pitch. The club should erect an empty plinth in honour of "The Half Arsed Absent Fan - A True Hero For Our Times". Spot on

I read this debate everytime it comes up and see both sides of the story but because I walk home I'm perhaps in a different position to most. As it happens, I always stay until the bitter end, not because I'm a super fan but I've only got the wife to go home to you see and quite frankly I've often thought I should get a season ticket for the North car park, just so I can sit in my car for an hour and have a bit of peace. It has however made me think we should have an alternate verse for our anthem and whilst I'm no Tony Hatch, I thought I'd have a stab at writing one while the mood takes me.. so here goes. We’ll be with you, be with you, be with you, until the 82nd minute We’ll be with you, be with you, be with you, unless we think you can’t win it We’ll be going, be going, be going, we’ll be leaving come what may We’ll be going, be moaning, and groaning, down the Stanley Matthews Way City… City… Tell the lads in red and white, we’ll be home by six tonight City… City… You were shit, so we don’t have to stay….. Might need a bit of tweaking before block 19 can sing it but you get the idea
