Like I said yesterday the question needs raising again to why we're getting all these injuries again?Hughes tenure has been blighted by this imo

Slightest injury or tweak and our players are out for weeks - a bit of the Denis Smith spirit wouldn't go amiss in that changing room! I’m sorry, but that’s a load of rubbish. Plenty of players are patched up and sent out to play but if you’re injured, you’re injured. Do you really think Ryan Shawcross is happy to be sitting in the stand? Denis Smith missed plenty of matches for Stoke because he simply wasn’t fit and well enough to play Sorry but I don't think it is. Muscle tweaks and pulls are taking an age as are Ryan's back issues - though the information sent out by the club on that issue is confusing to say the least.

It wasn't too bad but it wasn't great last season was it? Butland out. Johnson in and out. Bardsley in an out. Muni in and out. Cameron missed big chunks of the season. Afellay out. Shaq missed about a third of the season? Walters missed a load. And that's just off the top of my head. I do think the sort of player we buy doesn't help mind. They're generally older and have a history of injury. But when you have quotes from Cameron like the one Momo has mentioned you do have to wonder.

Extremely unlucky. In a way though prefer it was against Chelsea to have the defenders out, where even with fully fit back line we would always be up against it. Hopefully we can field 3 centre backs next week whoever they may be.

I don't trust Wimmer! So far he has looked like Bambi on Ice! He is far down in my pecking order, and I must admit I wasn't too pleased when I realised we were going to buy him. I've seen him a couple of times for Spurs without being convinced, and was really surprised when I heard about the amount of money as well!!! Shafted by Levy again I think, we never seem to learn!

I stated on here before we signed him that I wasn't a fan but he's a lot better than having Johnson in the team.

Yes I am pretty sure the strategy is to take no risks against Chelsea to make sure w have a strong side against Southampton. I would imagine Wimmer back for sure and hopefully Geoff

By halfway into the second half, we were bereft of all of our five centre backs which is more than some clubs actually possess. And some on here insist that ‘you make your own luck’?
Perhaps Kurt will therefore get that stupid rule changed whereby he could not play yesterday. It’s ok if you are simply on loan but not if the club is not only paying his wages but a considerable fee as well.

Another reason why such loans are daft.

We signed him as a 17 year old and he's still only 18. He's got lots of potential. How has he been a bad buy?

As Arnold Palmer famously said when chipping in from a bunker to beat Tony Jacklin and win the Open Championship: "It's funny, the more I practice the luckier I get". Ain't no such thing as luck. Unless you believe fairies live at the bottom of your garden and trolls live under bridges.

Mark Hughes “The story of the game for us, was catastrophic defensive errors. BMI is now injured and out. Zouma is our only fit defender” Hughes is not only a poor manager, he's also a liar. Who was that sitting on the bench for 90 mins? I thought it was Souttar. He will no choice but to play the lad now. That said I partly agree with him. Johnson and Pieters are also defenders, but they're no good.

Regardless of whether he makes it with us or not, signing a promising 17 year old is never a bad signing. It's good to see us taking a punt on these sorts of players more often now. We signed Ngoy and Verlinden as 15/16 year olds and now they're on the fringes of the first team. Sooner or later, a couple will come through.

I'd say it's pretty unlucky to have 3 centre back out with injury whilst one other is ineligible, then your remaining senior centre back gets injured during the game. But hey each to their own...
