Well that explains the substitution. I thought he looked ok when he went off.

You really have to wonder why we're getting all these injuries again though for me.Do other clubs suffer as many as we do and it just bad luck again?

6 games in and £25m spent on CBs
We are either really unlucky or something we do is very dodgy in training

Comments above echo my thoughts exactly. Bad luck or training deficiencies?

I was fortunate enough to be in the hospitality suite for this afternoon's game. Staying for a drink or two afterwards I managed to see the man himself, amongst some dejected looking players. One of the blokes asking for autographs asked Bruno whether he was injured and he said he is fine, just that they were really disappointed with the result.

Wasn't Ryan supposed to be back for Newcastle?
Common sense says going back to a back 4 with Zouma and Eric but it'll be no doubt a 3 with Johnson.

He really looked fine as he walked off. My gut feeling is Hughes tried to protect him for next week by taking him off, rolled the dice at 2 nil and lost. 7 days gets him back for next week.

Slightest injury or tweak and our players are out for weeks - a bit of the Denis Smith spirit wouldn't go amiss in that changing room!

Mark Hughes “The story of the game for us, was catastrophic defensive errors. BMI is now injured and out. Zouma is our only fit defender” I mean, apart from the 6'7 Scottish chap on the bench...

6 games in and £25m spent on CBs We are either really unlucky or something we do is very dodgy in training This was a big talking point two years ago. You make your own luck so that only leaves one explanation. The only thing that is amazing to me is the fact that Shaq has played 7 games in a row without straining his hamstring. So something is working.

All the top teams have no quibbles playing young players. We seem to be scared to do this.

Mark Hughes “The story of the game for us, was catastrophic defensive errors. BMI is now injured and out. Zouma is our only fit defender” I mean, apart from the 6'7 Scottish chap on the bench... With you there, mate. The only way that Souter will gain experience, is by playing the game. Same with Berahnho, the only way he can prove himself to be a goalscorer for us is by actually playing for us. I know that experience matters, but there's only one way to get it. At 3-0 down, and no realistic chance of getting back in the game, we may have gained more by giving Souter a run out. God knows we kneed to blood some youngsters. Sohbi played well, but gained a lot by being on against Chelsea, Come on, Mark, have faith in players you'be brought in while there's still time in the seaon to recover from any mistakes they might make.Watching on TV, in fact, I was quite impressed by the way the lads played, the poor passing that cost us goals aside. Despite several call on P and G saying that we lacked passion or intent, I disagree.

1 back injury (sustained in training) 2 hamstrings and 1 groin pull (while playing), Looks random and unlucky to me rather than a systemic training problem. But then you can't beat a good conspiracy theory. I blame Scholes.

Still putting fletcher cb and not putting souttar on was the most embaressing desicion since david James was up front

He probably hurt his back trying to carry the entire teams defensive work.
If Souttar can't get a game today he may as well move on.

We were never going to get back into the game so Souttar should have been bought on. I made a comment on Facebook when it was suggested he played from the start. I take it back, he couldn't have done any worse. Some of our squad players are spent and should be released. Give youth a chance, it was a bonus game anyway
