You really have to wonder why we're getting all these injuries again though for me.Do other clubs suffer as many as we do and it just bad luck again? The only explanation I can come up with that makes any sense mate is that we have laughed too long and too loud at the plight of the Vale and this is God's terrible retribution

He really looked fine as he walked off. My gut feeling is Hughes tried to protect him for next week by taking him off, rolled the dice at 2 nil and lost. 7 days gets him back for next week. He walked right me and didn't seem right seemed to be holding his quad or groin He was injured mate. No point making it worse. Taking him off was the right decision. The game was lost, save him for next week if at all possible. The batshit crazy decision was to totally disrupt the midfield by moving our best midfielder by a mile to centre half, a position he's never? played and to which he is clearly unsuited and then bringing Afellay the crab on in his place, thereby fucking up both the defence and midfeild in one fell swoop. Completely fucked up the head of steam we'd built up. If Soutar's good enough to be on the bench then he should have pbrought him on. He also should have brought on Berahino up front and pumped balls up to Crouch letting him feed off him. Absolutely fucking shit last 15 minutes. It feels like a battering but it wasn't.

Slightest injury or tweak and our players are out for weeks - a bit of the Denis Smith spirit wouldn't go amiss in that changing room! Wrexham Away 1979 Stitches and a blood soaked sock Wuzza, never see that again bud Mickey Thomas boths knees pouring with blood, the bench wanted him to come off and he said no!

You said on the 'Alonso' thread that our luck had run out today. We were either unlucky or battered can't be both. For what it's worth I thought we played well for large parts and were undone by 4 individual errors and a diabolical substitution/reshuffle on 75 minutes.

Laughing for what's it's worth I think letting us have ball and play in front of them and then killing us on the break was simply their game plan .

They didn't kill us on the break though did they you daft bat. The only goal they scored on the break was the one the useless twat Johnson presented them with. Hardly a convincing game plan was it?

Are we just unlucky with injuries or is there more too it with regards to the way we train, our strength & conditioning, recruitment? We always seem to have key players injured.. Shawcross & Cameron always seem to miss a fair chunk of the season

To be fair Fletcher has played centre back at times in his career however agree it was the wrong decision.Souttar should have come on.

I don't think we have any more injuries than other teams but we are very unfortunate that all our injuries are in the same position. We really need an international break so that we can try to get some back to fitness. I agree that Souttar should have played a part today. He might as well go out on loan as it is difficult to see how he will ever get a game.

Horse , water and drink spring to mind just agree to differ you don't think we were battered I do and fear for similar next week ., I don't think it was a battering today. I think Chelsea only had about 5 shots on target and scored with 4. In fact I think the score gives a false impression of the game. However, if it suits your agenda then by all means call it a battering.

I had to leave early today before my head exploded, listening to a bunch of spacktards slating Hughes, for what they thought was a tactical switch.
Fucking hell, today was an ordeal on all fronts.

1 back injury (sustained in training) 2 hamstrings and 1 groin pull (while playing), Looks random and unlucky to me rather than a systemic training problem. But then you can't beat a good conspiracy theory. I blame Scholes. most injuries nowadays are pulls and tears to hamstring, calf and groin.Every club suffers

With so many problems with injuries to defenders and cover should we be looking for opportunities to get some back up. Perhaps we could draft in a free agent. For example Bacary Sagna was available the other week.

Slightest injury or tweak and our players are out for weeks - a bit of the Denis Smith spirit wouldn't go amiss in that changing room! I’m sorry, but that’s a load of rubbish. Plenty of players are patched up and sent out to play but if you’re injured, you’re injured. Do you really think Ryan Shawcross is happy to be sitting in the stand? Denis Smith missed plenty of matches for Stoke because he simply wasn’t fit and well enough to play
